Mark Lawson played Dustin Philips on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. The character was introduced on the show on July 9, 2019. Dustin’s journey as a recurring character on the daytime show wasn’t much long as he exited the show at the end of 2020.
In the episodes of General Hospital aired in November 2020, the viewers saw the tragic end of Dustin Philips because of the same bombing at the bar Floating Rib where Lulu Spencer got severely injured because of which she went into a coma.
Dustin Philips was the former lover of Lulu Spencer, with whom she wanted to move forward from her past with Dante Falconeri. Dustin has planned to propose to Lulu to marry him, as the couple were living happily together and hence they went to the bar. But before Dustin could say anything, the bomb blasted, resulting in his death in General Hospital.

Journey of Dustin Philips at General Hospital
Dustin Phillips first appeared on the show General Hospital in July 2019. He was originally set up on a blind date with Lulu Spencer.
Lulu tricked Dustin into helping her catch a thief who was stealing in Port Charles. Even though their meeting was unusual, Dustin impressed Lulu with his kind heart and polite behavior.
Their paths crossed again when Lulu received divorce papers, following which she accidentally met Dustin at a local bar. Their meeting started with a spilled drink, but it ended with a stronger connection.
Dustin comforted Lulu Spencer, and they started to see each other differently. From then on, Dustin became more involved in Lulu's life. They continued to flirt and share moments like when Dustin played in a company softball game for Aurora Media, and later when he supported Lulu emotionally after her divorce was finalized.
Dustin’s presence became more significant when he helped at Lulu's son Rocco’s birthday party and accepted her invitation for a tour of the Haunted Star. Lulu and Dustin came closer during a ship, although Lulu was hesitant about starting a relationship so soon.
A turning point in Dustin’s story on General Hospital came when Brook Lynn Ashton returned to Port Charles, revealing that she knew him from years ago when he was known as “Dusty.”
They used to both love music, and Brook Lynn sang at a bar that Dustin often visited. After she suddenly left him, Dustin quit his passion and changed his life plans. When Brook Lynn returned, it brought back old memories and unresolved feelings. However, Dustin told Lulu that he had moved on from his past and was concentrating on creating a future with her.
As Lulu and Dustin came closer, she asked him to move in with her. However, their new relationship faced a problem when her ex-husband, Dante Falconeri, came back to Port Charles.
Even though Lulu said she was concentrating on her relationship with Dustin, she told her mom that she still had feelings for Dante. Dustin, though, stayed determined to be with Lulu and even planned to ask her to marry him at the Floating Rib.
When he was ready to propose, a bomb set by Cyrus Renault blasted. At the hospital, during his last moments, Dustin asked Dante to look after Lulu before he died.
