General Hospital: A quick look at Shriner's Scott Baldwin
The character of Scott Baldwin was introduced on General Hospital in 1965 when a young Scott, played by Johnny Whittaker, arrived in town with his mother. His mother, Meg, married Lee Baldwin, and Scott was adopted by his stepfather. When his mother died, Lee raised Scott and sent him off to law school.
Shriner joined the cast of the soap when a grownup Scott was introduced into the storyline. Initially part of the soap for periods of three-to-four years in a go before exiting and rejoining, Shriner currently appears as a recurring cast member.
Scott has had multiple romantic interests, from Laura Webber and Bobbie Spencer to Heather Webber and Lucy Coe. In the marriage department, he wed Susan Moore for her money and later, Dominique Stanton before she died. He left Port Charles with his daughter Serena but returned when Serena was abducted.
After ensuring Serena's safety, Scott started dating Eve Lambart but continued to eye Laura. He briefly married and divorced Lucy. However, Laura rejected his marriage proposal.
Laura was briefly committed to a mental care facility because of a mental breakdown over Rick's death. In reality, the lawyer himself had killed Rick trying to defend his lady's love. When a verbal fight with Lulu, Laura, and Luke's daughter brought Laura to her senses, Scott took her to Los Angeles and later to France.
In 2013, Laura and Scott had a quick wedding. But Lulu was kidnapped, leading to Laura and Luke sharing worries and time. As such, Scott ended his marriage. At around the same time, he learned about having a son from his drunken intimacy with Heather.
Following his divorce, he tried dating Lucy, Bobbie, and Ava for some time. He represented Liz in Franco's implanted memory case. Franco's murder left Scott devastated, leading to his closeness with Liesl, who had information about the killing. Dating and a kidnap incident later, he proposed by Liesl turned him down. Since then, Scott has become involved in various legal cases on General Hospital.
