What happened to Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives? Storyline and plot dynamics explored
Billie Reed was introduced to Salem in 1992 as a professional singer. Her troubles begin with her cocaine addiction, which halts her career. She takes time to heal herself and then starts a cosmetics company called Countess Wilhelmina.
It is revealed later that Curtis Reed is Billie's father. He was the one who harassed her as a child and even got her addicted to drugs. During Curtis' trial, Bo Brady stands up in support of Billie and even falls for her in the process. After Curtis' death, Billie is also reunited with her mother, Kate Roberts.
In 1994, Bo and Billie got engaged after confessing their love for each other. They got married in February 1995. However, Bo's wife Hope is revealed to be alive, despite everyone in Salem assuming that she died in an accident. Billie lets Bo go back to Hope to be together with his love.
However, Bo and Billie are forced to pretend to be dating as Bo tries to take down a drug ring undercover. The drug lord JL King even orchestrates a wedding to test their honesty, and the two get married to keep up the ruse, much to Hope's devastation.
Bo and Billie also slept together, which resulted in her pregnancy in 1998. Unfortunately, Billie gives birth to a stillborn daughter, whom she names Georgia while in mourning.
Billie blames Hope for the miscarriage, even though she knows that Bo loves Hope more than her. After Bo finds out that Billie lied about Hope being involved in the miscarriage, he leaves her. This makes Billie give up on Salem and move away to Paris in 1999.
In 2002, Billie returns to town and joins the Salem police force. Initially, she creates problems for Hope and Bo. Billie goes missing during the Salem stalker murders and winds up on the mysterious island with all the supposedly dead victims, where Bo finds her. She also realizes that her stillborn daughter Georgia, who is actually alive, is now named Chelsea Benson.
Chelsea becomes the new drama-maker in town as she tries to split Bo and Hope apart. However, Billie takes a stand against this and maintains that Bo and Hope should stay together, no matter what Chelsea might want. Later, Billie is accompanied by her mother, Kate, and Chelsea as they move to London.
In 2013, Billie briefly appeared on Days of Our Lives to help her mother with Countess Wilhelmina Cosmetics. She also wanted some information about Stefano DiMera, but those intentions were quickly abandoned. Almost as soon as she arrived, Billie left town again and went to Europe.
Since then, Billie's appearances on Days of Our Lives have been very brief. She made a cameo in 2018 to help John Black with a case against Steve Johnson. She also appeared in the 2021 spinoff of the soap Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.
