General Hospital premiered on April 1, 1963, on the ABC television network. The storyline revolves around the lives of residents of Port Charles as they face betrayal, love triangles, enemies, and more.

Lucky Spencer is Luke and Laura's son on the show. The character has been portrayed by several actors, including Jonathan Jackson (1993–1999, 2009–present), Greg Vaughan (2003–2009), and Jacob Young (2000–2003). He is one of the most iconic characters from General Hospital.

Jonathan, as Lucky, last appeared on the show in 2015. Lucky is often seen tangled up in emotions and drama regarding his family members, leading him to leave Port Charles and travel the world. In 2015, Luke and Laura joined the forces and rescued Lucky and Jack, who were kidnapped by Frank Smith. Lucky reconciled with Luke and Laura and left town.

In 2016, it was mentioned that Lucky is traveling the world and working with refugees and orphans in Africa.

Lucky's story arc on General Hospital

Introduced in 1993, Lucky is the son of Luke Spencer and Laura Webber. His early storylines involved bonding with his parents, especially his father, Luke, who rescued Laura from captivity.

By the late 1990s, Lucky became involved in a romance with Elizabeth Webber. Their love story had become a fan favorite because Lucky assisted Elizabeth in her healing process when she was sexually assaulted. Their relationship was put through trials as Lucky was presumed dead in a fire set by Helena Cassadine in 1999.

Lucky later escaped Helena's clutches and returned to Port Charles, but he still had significant issues with his parents, particularly his father. His romantic life was not kind to him either since Elizabeth's adultery also included an affair with Nikolas Cassadine, Lucky's half-brother. All these incidents in his life created turmoil to a large extent that they plunged him deeper into addiction.

Lucky was a police officer in Port Charles—the thick of the lot—when much of the mob action came down to the city. His moral code and need to protect those he cared about defined him, but he struggled with the pressures of being Luke and Laura's son, trying to establish an identity outside of their messy past.

Lucky Spencer's final regular appearance on General Hospital was in 2015, while Jonathan Jackson was briefly reprising the role. It came after Lucky helped his dad face his demons over the death of Luke's son, Jake. It was the end of an era for the Spencer family since Lucky wanted to seek peace without the turbulence his family had built up over the years.
