Robert Scorpio is a character first introduced to General Hospital in 1980 and portrayed by Tristan Rogers. He remained a regular character on General Hospital until 1992, following which he returned in a recurring role from time to time.
Scorpio made his return as a regular character in General Hospital 2018 and continues to appear on General Hospital. He was introduced as a rival to Luke Spencer and Alexandra Quartermaine as they searched for the Ice Princess, a diamond that could unlock the secret to carbonic snow.
Eventually, Luke and Alexandra realized that Robert was well-meaning all along when he revealed his allegiance to the World Security Bureau, and the three united against their common enemy, the Cassadines.
Since then, Robert has continued his time in General Hospital combating major world threats and was drugged and imprisoned in 2018 when trying to rescue Anna Devane from Henrik Faison.
More recently, Robert became the District Attorney of Port Charles after taking over from Margaux Dawson and has been juggling his duties with the WSB and DA work.

Robert Scorpio debuted in General Hospital in 1980
Robert Scorpio was introduced as an agent of the World Security Bureau on the search for the Ice Princess diamond.
The diamond had the potential to unleash the carbonic ice, which the evil Cassadines plotted to use to freeze the world. Robert had a run-in with Luke and Alexandra during this time before the latter two realized that he was on the same side.
Robert subsequently resigned from the World Security Bureau after clashing with them on how to handle the Ice Princess diamond and romanced Tiffany Hill for a short time.
Laura Spencer would subsequently get abducted by David Gray, causing Robert to help out Luke in his search for his wife. While Robert eventually killed David in a swordfight, Laura couldn't be found at the time and was presumed drowned at sea, causing Robert to be with Luke during his grieving.
Robert's next romance arc revolved around Holly Sutton, who was pregnant with Luke's baby. Robert had a negative experience with her family, thanks to them roping him and Luke into an oil scam, but he later ended up marrying her.
At the time of his marriage, Luke was presumed dead, and Holly was carrying his baby, so he wed her to protect her from deportation. However, the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, and Robert eventually remarried Anna Devane.
Robert would eventually be forced to go into hiding from the World Security Bureau in 1992, causing him to fake his own death.
He'd later resurface in 2006, having been assigned to seek out an Encephalitis strain that had originated in the South Pacific. Robert would subsequently leave Port Charles after a colon cancer diagnosis
After losing his daughter, Robert returned to Port Charles in 2012, feeling suicidal until Luke talked him off the ledge. After his return to the soap in 2018, Robert would help Anna search for her son, Henrik Faison, only to be captured and drugged in the process.
On surviving that affair, Robert went on to succeed Margaux Dawson as District Attorney of Port Charles, fighting crime on two fronts. Robert continued to juggle his duties with the WSB while working as a District Attorney. When Holly apparently died on a WSB assignment, Robert was skeptical of whether she was really dead.
His suspicions were confirmed when he got a phone call from a seemingly panicked Holly begging for help. Robert flew to Monte Carlo to investigate what was going on but returned empty-handed.
Robert has continued his DA duties by prosecuting Charlotte Cassadine for stalking Anna by offering her a settlement and trying to get Heather Webber transferred to San Quentin.
General Hospital airs on ABC and Hulu.
