Storm's story on the soap came to an end when he found out that his sister Katie needed a heart transplant surgery to survive. The family had been unable to find a suitable organ harvest for her and were at the end of their tether. Storm went into a separate hospital room, reminisced on the memories he shared with his family, and shot himself so that his sister could have his heart and live.

Though his family mourned his actions and Katie was devastated at what her brother had done, the surgery was successful in saving her. To date, Katie lives due to her brother's heart on the soap.

Storm Logan was the eldest child of Stephen and Beth Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful. He also became the older brother of Brooke, Donna, and Katie Logan. He was very protective of his family, especially his sisters. This led to him having a lot of fights with his parents, including when his mother started dating her college sweetheart, Eric Forrester.

In 1990, Storm dated his high school friend Taylor Hamilton and even got engaged to her. However, this engagement was called off after Taylor fell out of love with Storm and started developing feelings for Ridge Forrester. After this, Storm felt too heartbroken to remain in Los Angeles. He left town with his sister Donna and settled in San Francisco to practice law.

In 2006, Ridge requested Storm to return to town and give testimony for Taylor, who was on trial for suspected involvement in Darla Einstein's death. Then, Storm was hired by Nick Marone as the head of legal operations at Forrester Creations. When Eric Forrester and Stephanie Douglas took back the company from Nick, they still retained Storm in his position.

In 2007, Storm was involved in representing his sister Brooke during a custody case for her children Hope and RJ. During this time, Brooke was too scared to tell Storm that she had been abused by a man named Andy Johnson, whom Stephanie Douglas had hired. Later that year, Stephanie was shot at a fashion show at Forrester Creations. Storm admitted to his sisters afterward that he was the one who shot her, after finding out about her involvement in Brooke's ordeal.

Luckily, Stephanie survived the gunshot wound and was convinced by Brooke and Katie to not say anything that might hint at Storm's involvement. Storm started getting psychiatric treatment for his aggression issues after this.

In 2008, Storm started developing feelings for Ashley Abbott, but she found out about the time that he had shot Stephanie and refused to date him. Storm went to Ashley's house to convince her that he was a changed person and showed her the gun that he had used on Stephanie to try and clear the air. Misunderstanding the situation, Katie ran into the house and grappled with her brother for the gun. In the commotion, Katie accidentally got shot.

At the hospital, the doctors informed the family that Katie would not survive without a heart transplant. Storm then went to another room, wrote out his will on a notepad, and thought back to the times he shared with his sister. Then, out of guilt and the hope of saving her, he shot himself so that his heart could be used to save Katie.
