Taylor Hayes is back on The Bold and the Beautiful after an absence from action for about eight months. She was last seen having a face-off with Sheila Carter in November 2023, where she threatened to take it up with Sheila about troubling her daughter Steffy. She has not seen in the soap since then. However, Taylor has been back in the soap since August 2024 as the soap advertised on their social media handle, with Rebecca Budig recast in the role.
Taylor has been part of the soap since 1990 when she was the counselor for Ridge Forrester and Caroline. Over the years, she has been connected to the Forrester family. The character moves in and out of the plot with four different actors portraying her at different times.
The Bold and the Beautiful: A brief sketch of Taylor Hayes
Famous psychiatrist Taylor Hayes appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful as the counselor for Ridge and Caroline in 1990. Hunter Tylo portrayed her before being briefly replaced by Sherilyn Wolter. Tylo continued until 2019 and presented Taylor with all the emotional upheavals.
Dr. Taylor became romantically interested in Ridge during her counseling sessions, and they married. Despite Ridge's continued affair with Brooke Logan, they fell out and reunited. Their marriage resulted in three children. Of the three, they lost Phoebe to an accident in 2008. However, Taylor has remained an excellent mother to her two remaining children, Thomas and Steffy.
She also had romantic relationships with Throne Forrester, Nick Marone, and Whip Jones. For some time, she and Eric Forrester came close till they became friends for life. Another man in her life was Prince Omar Rashid, who had rescued her after a plane crash. In the 2002 plot, Taylor tried to save Brooke from Sheila but got shot instead. She presumably died, but was saved and kept in a coma by Prince Rashid.
When she returned, Taylor tried to reconstruct her life with Ridge. However, this got her into friction with Brooke. This conflict remained a huge draw for the viewers till it was recently resolved. When she gave birth to Jack Marone through IVF, it turned out to be Brooke's by mistake, leading to her mental degeneration.
On the negative side, Taylor slowly became a paranoid alcoholic. In 2006, she hit Thorne's wife Darla while driving in an inebriated state and killed her. While the Forresters decided not to press charges against her, she started an affair with Thorne. In 2018, she confessed to having shot Bill Spencer Jr. in the back. However, when Bill did not press charges, Taylor got psychiatric help for her alcoholism and mental state.
While in Los Angeles, Taylor moved in with her daughter and her grandchildren. However, she often traveled overseas for missionary and other work explaining her absence from The Bold and the Beautiful.
She is to return to the soap's plot as a CBS promotional video shows Taylor, played by Rebecca Budig, calling Steffy and informing her about her return.
