Xander Kiriakis née Cook is currently busy looking for the culprit who caused his newly-wed wife, Sarah's accident on the Days of Our Lives.
The distraught husband is left with a high-pressure job as the CEO of Victor Kiriakis' firm, while taking care of his baby girl, in the absence of Sarah. The fact that his mother, Fiona, was directly connected to his wife's condition, is yet to be revealed to him.
Xander, played by Paul Tefler, has seen many ups and downs in his limited time on Days of Our Lives. Starting with his dubious birth history to his profession as a crook, and later, trying to find a foothold in Salem City, Xander reformed after meeting Sarah. As such, any problem with Sarah is likely to affect him immensely.

Days of Our Lives: A glance at Xander Kiriakis in the soap
Introduced on Days of Our Lives in 2015, as a smuggler who helped handle Victor's business in Cyprus and Cuba, Xander Cook came to Salem on business. He followed Serena who was going to grab blood diamonds from Eric Brady to hand over to him. Viewers learned about his criminal activities and money laundering profession.
Xander, portrayed by Paul Tefler, fell for Nicole and planned to put up in Salem for longer. However, Nicole, who was involved with Eric, kept playing him up. To avenge his situation, Xander abducted Nicole and held her captive with Eric, who had come to save her. As he was trying to flee, Victor's henchmen captured him.
Although furious with Xander for committing a crime openly, and thus making him vulnerable, Victor forgave Xander. He employed Xander as a gardener and Theresa took advantage of him. She got involved with him but had him arrested for r**e and assault.
In 2016, Xander escaped prison along with two inmates and tried to strangle Theresa. Failing to take revenge, the trio held Kayla and Joey captive, before shooting Steve. Following this, Xander made intermittent appearances on Days of Our Lives.
2017 found him in Canada shooting Brady and taking Nicole and Holly hostage. His next appearance in Salem City came after he helped Theresa escape from mob boss Mateo in 2018. He used Nicole's recorded confession about killing Deimos to blackmail her into marrying him.
His interaction with Nicole and Kristen landed him in a fire accident where he was presumed dead. However, he returned to Days of Our Lives in 2019 and tried to become Titan's CEO by exchanging documents about DiMera Enterprises with Victor.
This is when he met Sarah Horton and was smitten by her. Although rebuffed by her, he got intimate with a heartbroken Sarah who felt rejected by Eric and Rex. Although working for the villain Kristen, Xander befriended Maggie and supplied her with Dr. Rolf's diary to help save Will.
Xander locked up Ted and Kate in DiMera Mansion against Kristen's orders who wanted them dead. Soon, Kristen was exposed and jailed while Xander turned his back on her. As viewers of Days of Our Lives saw, Xander was a situational victim rather than a hardcore criminal.

Xander's relationship with Sarah on Days of Our Lives
Despite having flings with many women including Nicole and Theresa, Xander genuinely liked Sarah from the time they met. Xander supported Sarah through her term when she was pregnant with Eric's baby.
Unfortunately, the baby was stillborn and Xander exchanged the dead baby with Kristen's, at Victor's bidding. He even cared for the baby with Sarah. However, when the truth was revealed, Sarah dumped him.
While Kristen was given her baby back, Xander put up a headstone at the cemetery for Sarah's dead baby to win her trust back. The duo paired together and worked to dig out Philip Kiriakis's secrets.
However, Sarah left Salem just as they were to wed. A heartbroken Xander found himself married to Chanel, getting intimate with Nicole and kissing Gwen. Due to some turns of events, Xander and Gwen worked together and got engaged to marry. At this point, Xander learned that Sarah had been abducted and had lost her memory.
He dumped Gwen as her past crimes were revealed, and went to get the amnesiac Sarah. They planned their wedding again after Sarah regained her memory but his fling with Nicole got exposed. This along with his continued involvement in crime scared away Sarah.
Xander and Chloe formed a friendly pair due to their rejections from their partners. This common ground brought them close and they reluctantly planned to tie the knot.
However, Chloe found out that Sarah was pregnant with Xander's baby. Xander threatened to fight for the baby's custody. This helped reconcile the romantic couple and they planned their marriage on the same stage as Alex.
Invited by Sarah, Xander's estranged mother, Fiona, arrived in Salem and revealed him to be the real Kiriakis heir. Days of Our Lives saw Xander and Sarah exchange their interrupted vows as Xander became Titan's official CEO.
However, following their marriage, a drunk Fiona ran her car on Sarah who is now at risk of paralysis and more. If the truth comes out, Xander will need to choose between his mother and his wife.
