The General Hospital episode, which aired on September 26, 2024, brought an unexpected twist in the storyline's pairings in Port Charles as the viewers saw Jason Morgan and Anna Devane kissing. Played by actors Steve Burton and Finola Hughes, Jason and Anna share a long-standing association that is mostly centered around friendship and work collaborations.

As General Hospital viewers know, Steve Burton's Jason and Finola Hughes' Anna boarded a flight to Africa to get Lucky back in Port Charles. Lucky and Holly were in Sidwell's captivity. With a twisted criminal mindset, Sidwell proposed to play a game between him, Lucky and Jason. He paired Lucky with Holly, and Jason with Anna. Sidwell, then, advocated that he would kill the losing team.
While he had Anna and Holly locked away, he started the game with Jason and Lucky. Jason just had enough private time with Lucky to inform him about Lulu's need for a liver transplant and Lucky being the only donor possible. However, expectedly Jason lost the first round of the game.
As Jason was put in the same cell as Anna, while Holly was taken away to join Lucky, Anna attempted to pick the lock on Jason's handcuffs. While she fretted, unable to free Jason's hands, knowing that they were going to die, Jason tried to calm her down. As they heard the guards returning for them, Jason suddenly kissed her and she reciprocated.
General Hospital: What direction might Anna and Jason's story arc take?
The episode of Thursday, September 26, 2024, seems to present that the unexpected liplock resulted from Jason and Anna's proximity in the face of imminent danger. However, one small factor could be the fact that they heard the guards and Jason could be making a show in front of them.
If Jason and Anna survive death and return to Port Charles after this incident, this may have different ramifications. As such, Jason and Anna make an unusual romantic pair for various reasons. The first is that Jason shared a romantic relationship with Anna's daughter, Robin, in the past and Anna had reluctantly approved of Jason at the time.
Currently, Anna holds a soft spot for Valentin, letting him escape the town before getting caught. If Lulu survives her surgery and wakes up, Valentin may bring Charlotte back to her mother, leaving him open to resume his relationship with Anna.
