Days of Our Lives: A glance at Nicholas Alamain, Cody Longo's character
The character of Nicholas Alamain was introduced on Days of Our Lives in the early 90s as the son of Carly, who was believed to be dead. It was revealed as a backstory that Nicholas was born to Carly when she became pregnant with her boyfriend, James - the alias of Lawrence Alamain.
Carly had reached out to Vivian Alamain, Lawrence's aunt and Stefan DiMera's mother, who falsely informed Carly that the newborn died of hydrocephalus. Meanwhile, Vivian raised Carly and Lawrence's baby as her son, Nicholas Alamain.
While Nicholas reunited with his estranged mother, Vivian tried to separate them. After a failed attempt at presenting Carly as a serial killer, Vivian then buried a comatose Carly alive in a coffin.
Further, after Lawrence rescued her, Nicholas moved to France with his parents. A grown-up Nicholas, played by Cody Longo, was then seen in 2011 when Carly returned from her stay in rehab. The mother-son reunion was an important part of the story arc, as Carly improved her spoiled relationships in Salem. Nicholas helped his mother's reform, before taking her to travel in Europe.
