Which role did Rebecca Budig play on General Hospital? Everything you need to know

Rebecca Budig played Hayden Barnes, little Violet's mother, in General Hospital. She first appeared in her character in March 2015. Her former name was Rachel Berlin which was later given the alias of Hayden Barnes.

For the newly indicted fans, Hayden Barnes of General Hospital played a fiery character who had associations with Dr. Hamilton Finn as well as the Cassadines. While starting as a troublemaker, Hayden soon changed into a troubled victim of circumstances. Actor Rebecca Budig of All My Children fame represented the character earning her nominations on Daytime Emmy and Soap Hub Awards.

She exited the show once in 2017 and again in 2019. With the exit of Michael Easton, father of Hayden's daughter, Violet, fans speculated whether Rebecca's Hayden would be back to care for the child. However, Rebecca is currently playing the role of Dr. Taylor Hayes replacing Krista Allen in The Bold and the Beautiful.

General Hospital: Rebecca Budig as Hayden Barnes

As mentioned before, Rebecca Budig portrayed Hayden in General Hospital. Introduced in 2015 as the child of Naomi Dreyfus and Raymond Berlin. However, later in the storyline, it was clear that Jeff Webber was her biological father since her mother had a stray affair with Dr. Webber. With her birth year revised to 1982, Hayden was more than thirty years old as per the storyline when she joined.

In Rebecca's first stint in General Hospital as Hayden, the troublemaker had an affair with Dr. Finn and left Port Charles with a pregnancy. However, she lied to her ex-boyfriend and claimed to have lost the baby. She left the city in September 2017. She presumably gave birth and kept the baby a secret from the father.

Rebecca was again seen as Hayden in Port Charles in July 2019 as she aimed to expose Valentin. She tried to keep Violet a secret from her father till the baby fell child in October 2019. Moving her to the hospital under Dr. Finn's care, she had to disclose the truth.

In November 2019, Hayden continued with her mission while introducing Violet and Finn officially. An episode of General Hospital dated November 22, 2019, found Hayden attacked by masked men while she waited for Valentin. As Nikolas Cassadine rescued her, he convinced her about the danger to her life in the city.

With a heavy heart, Hayden left Violet in the care of her father while she left Port Charles. With this story arc, Rebecca Budig left the soap. While there seemed a possibility of her return, there has been no plot thread leading to that yet.

Recent developments in General Hospital have resulted in the exit of Hamilton Finn actor, Michael Easton, as the character moved to rehab after alcoholic episodes.

The child, Violet, was left in care of her relatives, Chase and Brook Lynn. At this juncture, fans expected Hayden's return to the soap to take care of Violet. However, with Rebecca Budig joining The Bold and the Beautiful, she is not going to be part of GH anytime soon.
