Sarah Sherman joins the cast of General Hospital
Sarah Sherman who is known for her comedy from Saturday Night Live is set to appear on General Hospital, in the episodes airing on Thursday, September 5, 2024, and Friday, September 6, 2024. The actress will play the role of Ms. Finch, a spirited etiquette teacher who has arrived in Port Charles to help Lois Cerullo.
Sarah has been a huge fan of General Hospital for a long time and now getting to appear with the stars she has seen on screen, is a dream come true for her. In a September 4, 2024, interview with PEOPLE, the actress mentioned how overwhelming the experience was for her.
“I had the best time of my life and I couldn’t believe I got to act in a scene with 'TRACY QUARTERMAINE'!” said Sherman.
In the interview, she particularly mentioned the names of the two pillars of General Hospital– Tracy Quartermaine and Sonny Corrinthos (played by Maurice Benard).
“I was so nervous about flubbing my lines, because I was surrounded by pros who memorize like a billion pages of dialogue a day. Also, I met ‘Sonny Corinthos’ [Maurice Benard] so I can die happy!”
In an exclusive clip of Sherman’s appearance on the show by PEOPLE, her character Ms. Finch seems to get into a bitter encounter with Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), Ned (Wally Kurth), Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Lois.
The encounter begins with the criticism of Finch, who tries correcting Olivia for the way she pronounces “croissant”. Olivia gives it back hand in hand as she says to Finch that there is no one to correct her.
“I don’t know who you are, or what you’re doing in my living room, but I'll pronounce my French pastries just the way I eat them,” said Olivia.
Ned immediately got into the conversation to support Olivia mentioning that she would pronounce it "Anyway she wants."
To their surprise Ms. Finch right after the very first brief confrontation could tell where she is from. Finch mentions that she must be from Brooklyn, 15th Avenue, and somewhat around 83rd to 85th Street. Well, that was because she closely analyzed Olivia’s accent but the girls were stunned and Brooklyn found it creepy as Finch was so on point.
“It's the ‘ah’ in her ‘croissant, The closer to Bath Beach, the more nasal the tone,” Finch replied.
Ned and Lois try to figure out who Finch is and guess if she is a reporter who had arrived in Port Charles to the latest on the murder case of agent John Cates.
Ms. Finch introduced herself to everyone and while denoting Lois, said “You must be Lois Cerullo! My new student.”
