Who are the 2 new stars joining the cast of Days of Our Lives in December 2024?

Days of Our Lives has been known to surprise its viewers with new characters and storylines over the years. True to its nature, the soap introduced two new actors and characters in the storyline to bring December 2024 to a close with a twist.

The second addition to the cast is actor Peyton Meyer, taking on the role of Doug Williams III. Meyer has gained fame from his work on the Disney Channel show Girl Meets World and his earlier stint on Dog with a Blog. He has also starred in the 2021 Netflix film He's All That.

1) Susan Elena Matus as Catharina

Actress Susan Elena Matus has joined the cast as Catharina, Konstantin's daughter who had previously been presumed dead by the residents of Salem. She is also Cat's mother. She is the reason that Cat once pretended to be Abigail and nearly scammed Chad into believing that she was his dead wife. In truth, Cat only did this to save Catharina from Clyde's schemes.

The actress entered the show in an episode that aired on December 11. Catharina gets off to a strong start when she shoots Clyde to protect herself from further being exploited by him. Though she is apprehended after her shot results in Clyde's coma, it is clear that Catharina is set to play a major role in the storyline ahead.

2) Peyton Meyer as Doug Williams III

Peyton Meyer has joined the soap's cast in the first week of December, where he debuts the character of Doug Williams III. He meets the recently bereaved Julie at her husband Doug's grave and informs her that he is Doug's grandson. After this reveal, he is welcomed into the Horton family home, though a few family members remain suspicious of the new addition.

However, the doubters might be right since the character seems to be on a less-than-righteous journey. Doug III is seen pocketing the necklace from Alice Hprton's time capsule. This puts his intentions towards his newfound family in doubt.

Spoilers for the coming week also indicate that Doug III might pawn off the necklace to someone in exchange for a favor. It remains to be seen what the new character's true purpose is in Salem.
