Baby Ace of General Hospital is part of the Cassadine family and connected to the criminal Heather on the other side. Played by twins Jay and Joey Clay, Ace was Esme Rince's child from her affair with Nikolas Cassadine. The events were vile because, Nikolas was married to Ava Jerome, and Esme wanted to break them up, despite herself dating Nikolas's son Spencer.
With his mother already dead and his father in the Pentonville facility, baby Ace has been adopted by his grandmother and grand-uncle Laura and Kevin. With a secure home to be raised on General Hospital, Ace looks safe from his maternal grandmother Heather, who is on the lookout to steal him after Esme's death.
As per the recent plot dynamics, Ace moved to the Quartermaine mansion to live with Tracy as Laura and Kevin left for Africa in an attempt to save Lucky. Ace will have the opportunity to get to know the Quatermaine kids and adapt to the new household on General Hospital.
How was baby Ace's journey on General Hospital?
In October 2022, Esme Prince came to Wyndemere Castle and told Nikolas that she was pregnant from their one-night intimacy. Esme was Spencer's girlfriend while Spencer's father, Nikolas, was married to Ava. Nikolas locked her up in the castle's North Tower. He employed Elizabeth's help to take care of Esme and the baby. His plan was to take the baby after birth and ship Esme to the perilous Cassadine Island.
After falling into the ocean, surviving hypothermia, surviving attack and sedation by Leisl, and being diagnosed with amnesia, Esme landed in Spring Ridge Prison. However, her biological parents, criminal Ryan Chamberlain and serial killer Heather Webber helped her break out of prison on Valentine's Day of 2023. While she did not know them, learning that her parents were criminals drove Esme to her labor.
Heather was captured and taken away while Mac Scorpio shot Ryan dead. Esme, who arrived at the castle, delivered baby Ace with the help of paramedics in the presence of Laura Collins and Dr. Kevin Collins. Esme named the baby, Ace, a name she called it before being born.
Spencer and Laura wanted to take care of the baby but Esme took Ace to Spring Ridge prison with her. After her release, Esme accepted residence at Laura and Kevin's penthouse with the baby. Despite all the care she received from Laura and Spencer, Esme did not trust them. However, she learned from Cameron that the Cassadines postponed bringing charges against her only to keep Ace out of prison.
April 2023 on General Hospital saw Victor abducting Ace who was later rescued by Trina and Spencer. Clashing over parenting ideas, Spencer and Esme took parenting classes, leading to Trina pointing out to Spencer that he was only an older brother.
After moving out of Laura's care, Esme started regaining her lost memory. In an attempt to speed up the process, she sneaked into Wyndemere castle. While this helped her get her memory back, it landed her in jail when Ava pressed charges for breaking in. Spencer took care of Ace but realized Esme got her memory back.
While she was in prison, Nikolas arrived in Port Charles and met baby Ace. He told Spencer that Esme with her memory regained would be as dangerous as her criminal parents, and suggested he, Ace, and Spencer skip town before she came out. While Spencer refused, he helped Nikolas leave with Ace. When Esme challenged him after release, he silenced her by blackmailing about her memory gain.
Ace returned to Port Charles in February 2024, after Nikolas heard about Spencer's death. Since the baby's mother was also dead, Laura convinced Nikolas to give himself up to the authorities and face justice. Dante arrested Nikolas and Ace smiled at his father when Nikolas professed love for him.
Left without his parents to take care of him, Laura and Kevin worried about Heather trying to steal the baby. Heather was already upset about Esme's death and could have tried criminal methods to get back at the Cassadines. As such, Laura and Kevin adopted baby Ace. While Nikolas was transferred out of state, Trina started taking Ace out for walks reliving her time with Spencer.
