Johnny Wactor was shot and killed while trying to stop someone from stealing his car's catalytic converter. This heartbreaking incident occurred on a Saturday morning near a rooftop bar where Wactor had just wrapped up his shift. Wactor's mom, Scarlett Wactor, shared that her son caught three people trying to steal his car's catalytic converter.

Without any provocation, one of the suspects shot Wactor, causing him serious harm and ultimately leading to his passing in the hospital. The suspects got away, leaving Wactor's family and the entertainment world in shock. Scarlett Wactor mentioned to TMZ that her son was hanging out with a coworker in downtown LA on Saturday morning, May 25, 2024.

She was upset about losing her son when she told TMZ,

"Johnny was a wonderful person and a talented actor. He had so much more to give, and his life was taken too soon."

David Shaul, Wactor's talent agent, told Variety that the General Hospital actor had passed away via the following statement:

"Johnny Wactor was a spectacular human being. Not just a talented actor who was committed to his craft but a real moral example to everyone who knew him. Standing for hard work, tenacity, and a never-give-up attitude. In the highs and lows of a challenging profession, he always kept his chin up and kept striving for the best he could be."

He mentioned that Johnny was a great person dedicated to his acting and always aimed for perfection. He added,

"Our time with Johnny was a privilege we would wish on everyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever."
