Aiden Spencer, on the ABC daily soap General Hospital, has now been taken over by a young and new face in the soap opera world, Colin Cassidy. Colin will be playing the role of Elizabeth Webber and Lucky Spencer's son, as the current plotline of the show suggests Lucky's return to Port Charles.

Aiden was born on-screen on July 19, 2010, with twins Adrian and Brett Ritter playing the role until May 2011, followed by Finbar and Maximo from June 2011 to July 2011, and Titus Jackson until June 2012. Jason David then took over from August 2012 to 2021, followed by Enzo De Angelis from 2021 to 2024. Further, in May 2024, Tristan Riggs assumed the role.

Colin Cassidy is the new actor playing Aiden Spencer on General Hospital, starting on September 30, 2024. The young actor takes on the role during crucial plotlines related to the Webber and Spencer families.

Aiden’s father, Lucky Spencer, who has been away since 2015, is about to return to Port Charles. This father-son reunion comes with a mix of emotions, particularly for Aiden, who came out to his mother as gay in December 2023. Adding to all this is the worsening condition of Aiden’s aunt Lulu Spencer, who’s dealing with liver failure and needs an urgent liver transplant.

While speaking to Soap Opera Digest in an interview published on September 30, 2024, the actor expressed his excitement and gratitude for playing Aiden in the title. He spoke about working with "incredible actors" and said:

“I feel incredibly grateful for this opportunity. To be thrown in with the incredible actors I’m working with and have these amazing scenes to do, it’s really not something to scoff at! It’s a big deal and I’m very grateful.”

Speaking about playing Aiden, Cassidy revealed a deep affection for the character. He described Aiden as “a very sweet young man” who is “loving, caring, and thoughtful.” Cassidy further highlighted Aiden’s strong connection with his mother, Elizabeth Webber, played by Rebecca Herbst.

“He’s ambitious; he’s got his baking business and he works hard in school. But I think the most important thing to him is his family — especially his mom. He’s very protective of his mom. He trusts her; he feels like he can be himself with her,” he said.

Building a strong connection with Herbst on screen has been a standout experience for Cassidy, who admires his General Hospital co-star.

“She is incredible! I can’t say enough good things about her,” he said.

Cassidy also expressed his nervousness about his debut episode, mentioning that he hasn’t yet decided if he will watch it live.

“I definitely need to see it at some point, just to know how I’m doing. But there’s definitely nerves about seeing it!” Colin added.

While Cassidy hasn't made his mind up yet, he's certain that his family will be watching the episode closely.

“They will be more excited than me! They’re my biggest supporters and they will be cheering me on,” he commented.
