Daisy Carter was first introduced on The Young and the Restless in 2009 as a friend of Abby Newman. Portrayed by actress Yvonne Zima, the character worked at Fenmore's Boutique during her high school years in Genoa City.
Originally, she came to town to seek revenge for the killing of her mother Sheila Carter and caused quite a bit of chaos in that pursuit. Many other characters on the show also likened her to Sheila, considering Daisy's penchant for taking the routes less taken to achieve her means.
Daisy then found herself attracted to Daniel Romalotti, but he didn't reciprocate her affections. Daisy's true colours came to light when she slept with Daniel after drugging him. Daniel remained unaware of what had happened to him for quite a while.
A while later, Daisy wanted to make sure that Daniel remained hers, as she announced to him that she was pregnant with his child. She even went through a paternity test to confirm that he indeed was her child's father. Enraged, Daniel reported the incident and its consequences to the authorities.
Daisy was sent to jail for her crime, and her baby daughter Lucy was left in the custody of the Romalotti family. Even after Daisy's eventual release from prison, there was a prolonged custody battle over Lucy.
At the end of it all, Daisy received much scorn from the other members of Genoa City. She lost custody of Lucy, who remained with Daniel, which set off a series of events that led to Daisy's disappearance. For years, no one heard from her, and most assumed that she was dead.
However, Sharon Newman encountered Daisy much later when Sharon was checking into the Fairview psychiatric hospital. She met Daisy in the waiting room of the institution, registered there under a different name. But when Sharon relayed this news back to the city, no one could find Daisy again, as she had checked out of Fairview.
