Who is Daniel Jonas's father on Days of Our Lives? Explained

Dr. Daniel Jonas was a character on Days of Our Lives between 2008 and 2016. Victor Kiriakis had invited him to Salem City to treat Bo Brady. While his parents were never seen in Salem, his birth and family background were part of his backstory. George Jonas was his father and Lillian Parker was his surrogate mother. His biological mother was Maggie Horton, whose egg was used by George and Lillian. As per the Days of Our Lives storyline, Victor Kiriakis was his godfather.

Daniel Jonas had a relatively short stay on Days of Our Lives of about eight years. During this time, he had an eventful journey in Salem City. Portrayed by Shawn Christian, Daniel was universally liked in Salem and rarely had any serious tussle with anyone in the town. Though considered an efficient doctor, he was suspended from his duties briefly for collapsing after being drugged. However, he saved many lives in Salem, including Bo Brady and Kate Roberts. After Daniel's death, his organs were used to save Brady Black's life. He helped solve many issues, such as JJ and Theresa's relationship and Melanie's gambling.

He had numerous romantic relationships. He dated Chelsea, Chloe, Jennifer, and Nicole. Out of these women, he was genuinely in love with Chloe, but she was more interested in Brady. His relationship with Nicole was more serious, and they were engaged to be married on Valentine's Day of 2016. The backstory of Days of Our Lives showed that Daniel had a prior marriage with a patient named Rebecca, who later died of cancer.

He had a casual relationship with Kate, who took advantage of him, and a one-night stand with Carly.

He has children from different relationships and affairs. He is Melanie's father from his affair with Carly. During his engagement with Chloe, she became pregnant and later gave birth to Parker, who is Daniel's son. His daughter with Nicole is Holly Jonas, who was carried by Chloe as a surrogate.

The current plot dynamics on Days of Our Lives indicate that Holly Jonas has recently come to know that her father Daniel, died in a car accident. Her beau, Tate, informed her that Eric was driving the car when it crashed.

Holly is upset for various reasons. First, Tate knew about the death but did not tell her about it. Secondly, her mother never revealed the real reason for her father's death. Finally, she accused a repentant Eric of killing her father and never letting her know about it. Holly and Eric's face-off is significant as they have always loved each other. As such, she is hurt by the new information involving her father and her stepfather.
