Elizabeth Webber, a legacy character on General Hospital portrayed by Rebecca Herbst, is the granddaughter of Steve and Audrey Hardy. She has three sons—Cameron, Jake, and Aiden—each with different fathers: Zander Smith, Jason Morgan, and Lucky Spencer. Her overlapping relationships and swapped paternity tests have complicated her family tree.
Growing up as a daughter with absent parents, she has tried her best to be a good mother to her sons. Let's dive deep and take a look into the relationships Elizabeth had that resulted in the birth of her sons.
Exploring Elizabeth's sons' parentage through her relationships on General Hospital
Zander Smith, father of Cameron Webber
This affair resulted in her getting pregnant with Zander's child. Later, she reconciled with Ric and he agreed to raise Cameron, as his own. But Elizabeth broke up with him before Cameron was born. Unfortunately, Cameron never got to connect with his father on the show. Zander died in a police shootout which was caused by his shady past.
Though he lacked a connection with his father, Cameron has had other fatherly figures as Elizabeth had various relationships. He had a hard time dealing with losing Lucky Spencer, who was the fatherly figure in his life and blamed his mother for him leaving as she had an affair with Nikolas.
Jason Morgan, father of Jake Webber
Jacob 'Jake' Webber, the second child of Elizabeth, was introduced on General Hospital in 2007. After discovering that her husband, Lucky had an affair with Maxie Jones, she reached out to her long-time friend, Jason Morgan, to find comfort. Jason also was having a hard time after seeing his girlfriend in bed with Ric. So, they ended up having an affair with each other.
This affair resulted in her getting pregnant with Jake. As she is not sure if the child is Lucky's or Jason's, she ends up taking a paternity test which reveals that Jason is the father. Jason agrees to waive his parental rights to protect his son from the mob and lets Elizabeth raise Jake with Lucky.
Elizabeth hid this fact from Lucky and let him raise Jake as his own. It was not until later that Elizabeth's secret was revealed to him - that Jake is Jason's son. Thereafter, Jason was allowed to be a part of Jake's life.
Lucky Spencer, father of Aiden Webber
Aiden Webber is the youngest and third son of Elizabeth Webber. His character was introduced on General Hospital in 2010. She learned that she was pregnant with Aiden after Lucky broke up with her due to her affair with Nikolas. And as these two relationships were close by, she wasn't sure who the father was.
She had a paternity test done and learned that Lucky was the father. But drama ensues when Helena switches the results, creating confusion. Initially Nikolas believes that he is the father and urges Elizabeth to let him stay with her to raise the baby.
She tries to mend her relationship with Lucky but after realizing that her relationship with Lucky is beyond repair, she agrees to let Nikolas stay with her in the delivery room. Later, when Lucky learns the truth about Aiden being his child, he agrees to raise him with Elizabeth and they reconcile.
Other father figures
Lucky Spencer, despite being only Aiden's biological father, became all of Elizabeth's sons on the show. He raised all three sons as his own alongside her. The boys looked up to him and had a close relationship. Cameron was even mad at Elizabeth when he left the family during her affair with Nikolas.
Unfortunately, the boys lost him as a father figure when he left for Ireland to fulfill his ex, Siobhan's, dying wish and spread her ashes. After returning he told Elizabeth that, they always end up ending each other and left them. But he has recently returned to the show and has reconnected with his son.
The boys gained another fatherly figure when Elizabeth started dating Franco Baldwin. Her sons grew close to him through various experiences. They all lived as a family together and he raised them as his sons. But his tragic death in 2021 broke the family and led the boys to mourn the loss of another father figure.
The journey of Elizabeth Webber on General Hospital has been full of struggles but she has proven time and again that she is resilient by facing them. None of these circumstances has stopped her from making sure that her boys are raised right. She has remained a loving mother throughout the show.
