Who is Gloria Abbott on The Young and The Restless?
In 2004, Gloria Abbott came to Genoa City to help her son Kevin Fisher, and reconnect with her other son Michael Baldwin. Gloria and Kevin lived with Michael for a while.
Later that year, Gloria met John Abbott and married him. Ashley and Jack Abbott assumed that Gloria was after their father's wealth and disapproved of their marriage.
In 2005, Gloria's ex-husband, Tom Fisher, arrived in Genoa City. It was revealed that Gloria's divorce from Tom wasn't finalized, which deemed her marriage to John invalid.
Tom threatened to reveal this truth to John and blackmailed Gloria into giving him money. Gloria escaped his scheme with the help of Ashley. Tom was later killed by John in a shootout.
John was sentenced to seven years in prison for Tom's murder in 2006. Jack manipulated John into revising his will to cut off Gloria.
To regain her status in the Abbott family, Gloria tried to tamper with Jabot Cosmetics' skin cream to expose the contamination and gain the family's goodwill.
However, this plan failed when the cream was distributed earlier than intended and caused harm to users including John's granddaughter Abby Newman.
In August 2006, John passed away in prison after suffering a fatal stroke. Jack prevented Gloria from attending the funeral, which left Gloria furious and devasted.
In 2007, Gloria developed a relationship with William Bardwell, a District Attorney who inherited a huge fortune from his late uncle. Though William uncovered the truth about Gloria's involvement in the Jabot skin cream scandal, he didn't reveal the truth out of love.
William died the same year after suffering a stroke. Gloria inherited 50 million dollars from his estate after his death. William's twin brother, Jeffrey Bardwell, arrived in Genoa City in 2008.
Jeffrey revealed that he knew the truth about the cream scandal and used the information to blackmail Gloria into marrying him.The couple moved into the Abbott mansion and lived along with Jack and Sharon Abbott and developed real feelings for each other.
However in 2008, due to misunderstandings, Jeffrey filed for divorce. Gloria donated half her wealth to charity and the other half went to Jeffrey.
Gloria and Jeffrey reconciled in 2008 and got married again after Jeffrey chose Gloria over Jill Abbott. This infuriated Jill and she fired Gloria from her job at Jabot Cosmetics as a receptionist.
In 2009, Gloria's secret about being a part of the Jabot cream scandal was revealed and she was arrested. Gloria was released from jail when Micheal proved that the victim's death was unrelated to the cream.
Jeffrey gifted Gloria Indigo nightclub for their anniversary in 2010. The club was renamed Gloworm and soon became the central location for Genoa City social events.
Gloria faced financial stress when Jeffrey gambled away Gloworm's profits and abandoned her. She sought out Angelo Veneziano, a mobster, for help.
In 2012, Gloworm was burnt down by an arsonist hired by Adam Newman which left Gloria devasted. Jeffrey returned to Genoa City later that year with amnesia after being kidnapped by Angelo. Gloria remarried Jeffrey again after reconciliation.
After being absent for a while, Gloria returned in December 2016 to surprise her family for Christmas. She revealed that she divorced Jeffrey and left him in France as he lost her wealth again by gambling.
Gloria learned that her daughter-in-law, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin's business was facing financial troubles. She plotted a scheme with Jack to sabotage Lauren's business and help Jack gain control.
Jack revoked his deal with Gloria and she invited him to the rooftop to have drinks. After getting drunk, Jack slept with Gloria. Gloria promised to keep this a secret if Jack gave her a job at Jabot.
Gloria started working as Jack's executive assistant and continued to manipulate people around her. When Ashley took over the company, she replaced Gloria with Ted.
In 2021, Gloria resurfaced and convinced Lauren to appoint her as interim CEO of Jabot Cosmetic Venture after Sally Spectra was fired. This was her last appearance on The Young and The Restless.
