On July 29, 2024, former General Hospital actress Haley Pullos was sentenced to five years of probation, a nine-month alcohol program, and 200 hours of community service in connection with a wrong-way DUI incident in April 2023.
The 26-year-old actress has also been ordered to complete a mental health treatment program and pay $8260 in damages to Courtney Wilder, the other person involved in the crash.
Haley Pullos played the recurring character Molly Lansing-Davis on General Hospital since 2009 but left the soap after the DUI incident and has not returned. Aside from General Hospital, Haley starred in The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia as Bella Schmerz.
Who is Haley Pullos, and why did she leave General Hospital?
Haley Pullos is an American actor born on July 10, 1998. She has four siblings. She began her career as a child actor in the 2000s, with roles in Till Death, Moonlight, and The Middlemen. She also appeared in the pilot episode of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, in the episode "Two Stories" of the Fox medical drama House, and had a recurring role in The Expanding Universe of Bella Sanchez.
She joined General Hospital in 2009, playing the role of Molly Lansing-Davis. She remained in that role until her DUI incident in 2023. With Molly Lansing-Davis getting recast with Kristen Vaganos and her criminal conviction, it is unlikely she'll be back in General Hospital anytime soon.
When news of the accident first surfaced in May 2023, Haley released a statement to Soap Opera Digest which said:
"Unfortunately, I was involved in an automobile accident, and I'm doing okay, but I am going to need a little time to recover. I will be back as soon as possible!"
Further investigation by TMZ revealed to the public that this was a DUI incident on the Ventura (134) Freeway in Pasadena that left Haley and another person injured. In June 2023, she was sued for damages because of her role in the wrong-way accident.
The lawsuit brought more details of the accident to light, such as the accusation that she'd been intoxicated on both marijuana and alcohol when the accident happened and that she'd lashed out at the firefighter who'd arrived on the scene to assess her injuries. She subsequently entered a rehab facility in Malibu, California.
Who is Molly Lansing-Davis?
Molly Lansing-Davis was first introduced in 2005 as an infant. When Haley Pullos took over the role in 2009, the character was 10 years old. Her age was further adjusted to 15 years in 2013. Her name is a homage to Titanic survivor Molly Brown.
Molly Lansing-Davis was portrayed as an intelligent girl who could hold conversations with adults and loved Shakespeare. She was also a hopeless romantic and inserted herself into the love lives of other characters such as Sam and Jason Morgan.
In 2016, Molly participated in a civil lawsuit against Mayor Janice Lomax, who had violated the constitutional rights of the people, thanks to her collusion with Landon Dixon. Molly, along with her father, Ric Lansing, Alexis Davis, and the American Civil Liberties Union, succeeded in their suit, causing Janice to receive an impeachment warning.
Later in 2016, Molly lost her cousin, Morgan, to an explosion that was later revealed to be masterminded by Olivia Jerome in 2017.
While Haley Pullos faces legal ramifications for her involvement in the April 2023 DUI incident, her return to General Hospital seems very unlikely. The soap airs on CBS.
