Hattie Adams from Days of Our Lives was first introduced in 2000 and originally played by Andrea Hall. She was meant to resemble the Days of Our Lives character Marlena Evans, who was played by Andrea Hall's twin sister, Deidre Hall. Hattie Adams started as a waitress employed by Fay Walker, who first crossed paths with Marlena when she replaced her prior psychiatrist, Dr. Higley.

Hattie's struggles with her resemblance to Marlena have defined much of the character's struggles, with her attracting a lot of attention and making new friends due to others realizing the resemblance.

Eventually, Hattie goes to extremes such as undergoing plastic surgery to more closely resemble Marlena and take over her life, and engages in even more elaborate plots to do so as the show goes on.

After Andrea Hall retired from acting Deidre Hall took over the role.

What happened with Hattie Adams from Days of Our Lives?

Hattie Adams started as a waitress who was upset that her favorite psychiatrist, Dr. Higley, got replaced by Marlena Evans. She was subsequently roped into a plot hatched by Stefano DiMera against Dr. Marlena, where he tried to convince her to undergo plastic surgery and look like her.

Hattie became increasingly susceptible to this plot after getting fired from her job and becoming suicidal. She was saved by Roman Brady, succumbed to her envy of Marlena, and agreed to undergo plastic surgery. Dr. Wilhelm Rolf and Bart Beiderbecke helped her undergo the surgery. Later on, Wilhelm plotted to have her killed because he considered her a liability, only for Stefano to stop him.

Hattie's character went on hiatus and returned in 2004. She got implicated in a serial killer plotline, and her resemblance to Marlena worked against her because Marlena was a murder suspect. It was eventually revealed Marlena was nothing more than a patsy for the evil plan of Andre DiMera, who had hypnotized her into drugging people into a near-death state, following which he took them to the island of Melaswen.

Hattie later showed up in 2016, where she met Hope Brady after the latter was imprisoned for murdering Stefano DiMero. Hattie was happy to hear of Stefano DiMero's death, as she'd loathed him for a long time. Hattie and Hope form a friendship and Hattie defends her from other inmates.

Hattie claims to Hope that she was imprisoned because of her boyfriend, "Alfi" (actually Andre DiMera), who framed her for stealing money from a company she worked at when she was in Chicago. Hattie helped Hope escape and faced violent retribution from fellow inmates Coco and Shiela as a consequence, the two beat up Hattie until she was hospitalized.

Hattie then appeared on Days of Our Lives in 2017, where she made another attempt at taking over Marlena's life. She conspired with Angelica Devereaux to have her committed to the Bayview Sanitarium. The two had another co-conspirator, Bonnie Lockhart, who took over the life of Adrienne Kiriakis.

Under pressure from Anjelica, Bonnie breaks up with Adrienne's boyfriend, Lucas, even though she likes him. Eventually, Bonnie sabotages the plan by sleeping with Lucas in Adrienne's room. Lucas, who'd developed a drinking problem after being dumped, realized that Bonnie wasn't Adrienne after all.

After he passed out again, Anjelica and Hattie arrived and got into an argument, which culminated in Anjelica collapsing from a heart attack. Hattie and Bonnie subsequently cover up the mess by placing Anjelica beside Lucas and fleeing the scene.

Hattie Adams has started a new story arc on Days of Our Lives via her return on July 30, 2024. Days of Our Lives is available to stream on Peacock.
