Jackée Harry, born on August 14, 1956, plays Paulina Price on Days of Our Lives. Starting as a theater actor in the late 1970s, Harry gained prominence in the 1980s through her television series and film performances.
She is known for her role as Paulina Price, which began in March 2021. She is also recognized for her portrayals of Sandra Clark on NBC's 227 (1985-1990), Lisa Landry on ABC/The WB's Sister Sister (1994-1999), and Vanessa on Everybody Hates Chris (2005-2009).
For her work on 227, she became the first African-American to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Jackee Harry's had an extensive career before Days of Our Lives
227 had her play Sandra Clark as a series regular for the first four seasons before becoming a guest star in the fifth and final season. Sandra was portrayed as a rival to the show's main character, Mary Jenkins.
Sandra's initially abrasive characterization softened as the show progressed, transitioning from a crafty schemer to an airheaded persona.
The popularity of her character resulted in a pilot for a spin-off show titled Jackee, which would star Harry in a leading role. Unfortunately, this endeavor did not succeed.
Harris gained further prominence as an actor through her role as Lisa Landry on Sister Sister, a sitcom that originally aired on ABC before transferring to The WB. Harris continued her acting career with recurring roles by playing Delores Whitmore on BET's Let's Stay Together, Vanessa on The CW's Everybody Hates Chris, and Pauletta Birdsong on Byron Allens' The First Family.
On December 8, 2020, in an interview with Today, Harris announced her foray into Days of Our Lives and began starring as Paulina Price in the 2021 run of the soap.
Paulina Price was introduced to Days of Our Lives in 2021
Pauliana Price made her first appearance on March 1, 2020. She was introduced as a real estate mogul from Miami, Florida, who had come into new money and was the aunt of Lani Price.
Paulina planned to become a godmother to one of Lani's twin sons, unaware of Lanie's plan to put Julie Williams in that role instead. However, once Paulina discovered this, she backed down and respected Lani's decision.
Paulina extended her realtor ambitions to the town of Salem, aiming to revitalize Horton Square and enhance its racial integration. She took over the Basic Black storefront for that purpose, and Abe organized a meeting with her and the zoning board.
However, an old conflict from her life sprung when her daughter Chanel showed up in Salem. Paulina told Chanel that she needed to get a job instead of living off her earnings.
Days of Our Lives streams on weekdays on NBC's Peacock.
