Danny's story arc in The Young and the Restless
Danny Romalotti first appeared on-screen on June 24, 1981. He began his music career as a teenage rock star in 1981, at age 16, playing in Genoa City, usually accompanied by his sister Gina and close friends Traci Abbott, Lauren Fenmore, and Amy Lewis. Danny then married Traci in 1984 when she was pregnant with her college professor. Later, the marriage was annulled when she miscarried.
As the years went by, Danny's career blossomed and he became a popular rock star and performed many tours around the world, but mostly returned to Genoa City.
In 1987, Danny and Gina's estranged father, Brian Romalotti, came back to Genoa City using the alias of Rex Sterling, who had become a friend to Danny and Gina before his ultimate death in 1994. Meanwhile, Danny began dating Christine "Cricket" Blair and eventually married her in 1990. The two thwarted the schemes of David Kimble, who was after Nina's fortune, which resulted in Kimble's being crushed to death in a garbage compactor.
However, Danny and Christine's marriage started to hit bumps when he left for months to perform on Broadway. She grew close to Paul Williams while Danny was strung along by Phyllis Summers, who led him to believe she was pregnant with his baby.
In 1994, Danny divorced Christine to marry Phyllis but later found out that Daniel Romalotti Jr. wasn't his son. Despite all this, Danny won custody after he proved Phyllis was unstable. All this also led to a love triangle between Danny, Christine and Paul with Christine finally choosing Paul to be her partner.
In 1998, Danny packed his bags and decided to leave for Europe to tour with Daniel, hoping to keep Phyllis away from his son. He was often seen returning to Genoa City to help his sister and for other other major events.
Michael as Danny might reprise his role fulltime in The Bold and the Beautiful. However, there is no official confirmation as of now.
