Don Diamont was born Donald Feinberg on December 31, 1962, in Oceanside, New York. Diamont started his career as a model and found success. He made his acting debut on Days of Our Lives as Carlo Forenza in 1984.
In 1985, Diamont joined the cast of The Young and The Restless as Brad Carlton, a role he portrayed from 1985 to 1996 and then from 1998 to 2009. In 2009, his character was written off the show. Following his exit from The Young and The Restless, Diamont was hired to play the role of Bill Spencer Jr. on The Bold and The Beautiful in 2009.

Brad Carlton was introduced as the gardener working for the Abbott family in 1985. During his job, he developed a bond with the youngest daughter of the family, Traci Abbott. They married in 1986 but due to misunderstandings and affairs, they divorced in 1989. After his divorce from Traci, Brad was tricked into marrying a wealthy woman, Cassandra Rawlins. When Cassandra died in 1991, Brad inherited her wealth.
In 1991, Brad remarried Traci after discovering she was pregnant with his child. Their daughter, Colleen Carlton, was born in 1992. However, their marriage ended in 1992. Brad left Genoa City and returned in 1998 as a wealthy and powerful businessman.
In 2000, Brad married Ashley Abbott, Traci's sister. However, their marriage became turbulent when Bad discovered that Ashley used Victor Newman's sperm to get pregnant, resulting in the birth of Abby Newman in November 2000.
Later, he adopted Abby and raised her with Ashley. In 2003, Ashley got pregnant with Brad's child, Robert Carlton, who was stillborn as Ashley got injured in a car accident. Brad and Ashley divorced in 2006.

In 2006, Brad married Victoria Newman, but the marriage was shortlived and ended in 2007 due to complex corporate dynamics related to her father, Victor, and Brad's affair with Sharon Newman.
Brad died on February 5, 2009, when he drowned after recusing Noah Newman from a frozen lake. Brad again appeared as a spirit to comfort his daughter, Colleen, when he was drowned in the same lake.
