Lawrence joined The Bold and the Beautiful in January 2013 under contract till 2016. However, he moved to a recurring status between 2016 and 2019, and then went back to a regular contract from 2020 till the present. He plays the role of Carter Walton, the brother of Marcus Walton, who was adopted by Eric Forrester and later went by the name Marcus Forrester.
Landing in Los Angeles in 2013, Carter, who came to visit his brother, Marcus, was introduced to his sister-in-law Dayzee. Learning that Dayzee was dealing with a legal issue related to the adoption of Maya Avant's child, Carter helped her locate the now-dead child and the dead adoptive family. He soon became romantically involved with Maya.
Maya's former boyfriend, Rick Forrester, suggested Carter join the Forrester Creations Legal Counsel team, to help with counterfeit and patent issues. Carter's interest in Maya Avant was then manipulated by Rick's girlfriend, Caroline, who resented Maya's past with Rick. However, after a long relationship with Maya, he supported her when her identity as a transgender went public.
Next, Carter had an affair with Zoe Buckingham, after Thomas dumped her at their wedding. However, when Zende Forrester returned to town, Zoe turned indecisive between the two men, leading to Carter's anger. Zoe tried to get back with Carter and asked Quinn Fuller to negotiate on her part.
