Stephanie Johnson is a character from Days of Our Lives who was introduced on the soap in 1990. She was initially played by child actors Amanda and Jessica Gunderson, followed by Shayna Rose.

As an adult, Stephanie Johnson was played by Shelley Hennig from 2007-2011, followed by a guest appearance in 2017. In 2022, Stephanie Johnson was recast with former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Abigail Klein.

Abigail Klein has formerly starred in a few seasons of CMT's Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, after which she quit cheerleading to pursue an acting career. Before her role on Days of Our Lives, Abigail had roles in Transformers: Age of Extinction, Code Black and The Young and the Restless.

Abigail Klein has played Stephanie on Days of Our Lives since 2022

Abigail Klein joined the cast of Days of Our Lives as Stephanie Johnson in 2022, replacing Shelly Hennig in the role. Her first appearance as Stephanie was in the Days of Our Lives spin-off Beyond Salem, following which she joined the main show.

Speaking to Soaps She Knows in 2022, head writer Ron Carlivati said:

"We’ll see her first in Beyond Salem. One of the great things about [the spinoff] is that it gives us an opportunity to catch up with people who have left town, given that almost the entire story takes place in these other locations.

"This is an example of that. It will be interesting to find out where she is in her life and what might bring her back to Salem."

Abigail Klein's first acting role was a minor part in CBS's The Young and the Restless, where she played a nanny. Since then, she has appeared in Transformers: Age of Extinction, Adam Sandler's That's My Boy, 90210 and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Abigail also had a recurring role in CBS's Code Black, playing Nurse Eloise and Hulu's There's...Johnny!, playing Chrissy-Ann Aldean. When posting about her role as Stephanie Johnson on Instagram, Abigail said:

Stephanie Johnson returned to Salem from her hiatus in 2022

Stephanie's 2022 arc on Days of Our Lives began with her returning to Salem to meet with a mysterious client. Her father, Steve Johnson, was wary of her being a pawn of Orpheus and tried to tail her, much to her disapproval.

Stephanie then encountered Alex Kiriakis, who fell for her, but she rebuffed his advances, saying she didn't want to mix her professional and personal lives. It was eventually revealed that Stephanie's client was Paulina Price, who was running to become Governor of Salem.

Stephanie would subsequently hire the widowed Chad DiMera, who she'd get close to because of commiserating with him about Abigail DiMera's murder. Eventually, Chad discovered that Clyde Weston was Abigail's murderer, allowing him to receive closure and move on with his life.

Stephanie and Chad eventually kissed each other while drunk and went back to Steve and Kayla's apartment to have sex until Chad backed out.

Stephanie's work for Paulina ran into complications when a mysterious rival hired Sloan Peterson to blackmail her with information on her daughter, Chanel Dupree.

Alex arrived and accused Stephanie of hypocrisy for kissing Chad, believing she'd entered a relationship with him. However, Alex subsequently backed down and apologized on learning the truth.

After negotiations with Sloan fall through, Chad and Stephanie plot to trick him with counterfeit money while Stephanie breaks into Sloan's apartment and retrieves the incriminating information.
