Tanisha Harper currently plays Deputy Mayor Jordan Ashford on General Hospital. The role was previously played by Vinessa Antoine (2014-2018), Briana Nicole Harry (2018-2021), and Tiffany Daniels (2021-2022). Harper took over the role on March 2, 2022.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest published on March 8, 2022, Harper talked about her character:

"I had been telling my agents that this was the kind of role that I really wanted to start doing moving forward. I started my career off in comedic television and film."

She further added:

"and I love that, but I really wanted to get some drama going! When I saw this role, I was like, This is exactly what I'm looking for."

As a prominent figure in the fictional town of Port Charles, Jordan is known for her strong moral compass and dedication to upholding the law. Her past as a DEA agent often comes back to haunt her, particularly when old cases resurface or when her own integrity is called into question.

Tanisha Harper's introduction to General Hospital saw Jordan Ashford reconnecting with her son T.J. She makes a bold decision to stay back in the town initially under the disguise of managing an art gallery for Ava Jerome. This seemingly harmless position soon revealed Jordan's true mission: going undercover as a DEA agent to infiltrate Julian Jerome's drug operation.

Under Harper's portrayal, Jordan's undercover work led into a web of deception and danger. It further complicated her relationship with her ex, Shawn Butler. The tension between Jordan's professional obligations and her personal connections was under the radar. This happened especially when Shawn confronted her about her associations with the Jeromes.

She ultimately revealed her true identity as an undercover agent to Commissioner Anna Devane after a dramatic arrest. This pivotal moment showcased Harper's ability to portray a character torn between duty and personal ties. Jordan struggled with the emotional fallout of her decisions especially her relationship with her son, T.J.

Harper's portrayal of Jordan was pivotal in several major mob storylines, where she demonstrated resourcefulness and bravery. Whether it was faking a romantic interest in Mickey Diamond to gather intelligence or narrowly escaping death when her cover is blown. Harper brought a fierce determination to the character.
