The actor found a romantic partner in Victoria Abbott, known for her role in Echoes. While Chavez exited his role in January 2024, fans can watch him on Netflix's ongoing series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story, which premiered on September 19, 2024. Chavez is playing one of the main leads in the series.

Born in Texas in 1999, Chavez was interested in performances since childhood and was part of local shows, and art performances. He was recruited by his mentor, Matt Murphy, in school productions. Chavez's love for performing arts took him through theatre courses and drama programs.

Chavez's first official big role was as Spencer Cassadine in General Hospital which he joined in 2021 with a three-year contract. His performance received good feedback from viewers and earned him two Daytime Emmy nominations, out of which he won one. He was the proud recipient of Soap Hub's Favorite Newcomer award in 2021.

While the General Hospital pairing of Chavez's Spencer with Trina was a fan favorite, his death left the viewers heartbroken.
