Violet Finn is one of the child characters on General Hospital, introduced to the show in 2019. She is the daughter of Dr. Hamilton Finn and Hayden Barnes. Initially, Violet was only raised by her mother and away from her father, who believed she had been miscarried. Then, Hayden returned to Port Charles with Violet, reuniting her with Finn.
Hayden returned to town when Violet fell very sick and needed professional treatment. Finn played an active part in her treatment and finally got to take over the role of a present parent as well.
Currently, Violet resides at the Quartermaine mansion in General Hospital, under the care of Chase and Brook Lynn, overseen by Tracy Quartermaine. This arrangement was made when Finn, Chase's brother, had to leave to go to rehab due to his struggles with alcohol in early 2024.

Violet Finn was introduced to General Hospital for the first time when her mother, Hayden, brought her to Port Charles to be treated. Soon after, Violet was handed over to Finn for custody as she left town again. It was difficult for Violet to say goodbye, but she forged a bond with her father and new family instead. She got close to her grandfather, Gregory, her uncle, Chase, and even Finn's girlfriend at the time, Anna Devane.
Initially, Violet felt her mother's absence, but soon, Anna took over a more maternal role for her. Violet was left more devastated when Finn and Anna's relationship ended. She faced another struggle when her grandfather, Gregory, got diagnosed with ALS and soon died after Chase's wedding to Brook Lynn.
Violet's troubles did not end there. After Gregory's death, Finn started to struggle with grief and a sense of guilt. Even though he had stayed sober for many years, Finn found himself turning to alcohol again. This also resulted in his breakup with Elizabeth Webber, whom he was dating at the time.
Chase and Tracy started to worry about Finn's growing spiral, especially considering the effect it would have on Violet. Hence, Tracy gave Finn the ultimatum to either go to rehab or give legal custody of his daughter to his brother to ensure Violet's safety. Finn chose rehab.
It was a tearful goodbye for Finn and Violet when he left. However, she was given into the safe care of the Quartermaine family when Finn left. It became Chase and Brook Lynn's responsibility to ensure Violet had at least some semblance of a stable home after all her losses.
Fans hoped Violet's presence might be a way for Finn to return. However, recent plot dynamics in the storyline have led to Violet's exit from the show. Finn was released from rehab off-screen, and with Violet set to reunite with her father, the character shall now be stepping off the soap.
