Nicholas Chavez, on the ABC soap opera General Hospital, played the role of Spencer Cassadine. The character was first introduced on February 17, 2006, and was played by several child actors until 2021, when Spencer went through Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome and was taken over by Nicholas.
Nicholas temporarily left the show on January 31, 2024, to portray Lyle Menendez in the new Netflix true crime documentary series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Although his departure was initially meant to be brief, the actor officially confirmed his permanent exit from General Hospital on May 3, 2024, via his official X handle.
However, a recent interview with Nicholas Chavez published by TV Line on September 30, 2024, has sparked speculation about a potential return to the daytime show as Spencer. While the actor has not clearly mentioned that he is returning to GH, his expressed willingness to come back to Port Charles remains central to these assumptions.

Nicholas was not only offered Lyle’s role by Ryan Murphy, but he also received the offer of a plum part in Grotesquerie (airing on FX Wednesdays at 10/9c), for which Chavez said that he was” really excited to jump on board.
“It was an opportunity to play in a world that was very, very different from the Menendez brothers,” he added.
