Portrayed by Tajh Bellow on General Hospital since 2018, TJ Ashford was born to Shawn Butler and Jordan Ashford. The role was originally played by Krys Meyer in 2012 and by Tequan Richmond from 2012 to 2018.
TJ's storyline revolves around his wife, Molly, and his life at General Hospital. Over the years, the character has developed both emotionally and physically. One of the most dynamic storylines that shaped his character is his kidnapping by Renault in 2020.
In 2020, TJ was kidnapped by Cyrus Renault, a notorious drug lord. His motive was to exonerate his criminal associates who were in prison and pressure Jordan Ashford, TJ's mother. The storyline was tense and dramatic, keeping Jordan as the central character as she had to decide between saving her son and maintaining law and order.
Currently, TJ and Molly grieve due to Kristina falling into the pool and losing the child. Followed by Molly's decision to learn about the situation and punish all those responsible.
For all the new viewers, Kristina is Molly's sister and was a surrogate for Molly and TJ's unborn child. However, she was involved in a court case with Ava and Sonny but refused to testify. This led to an argument between her and Ava, which resulted in the accident.

General Hospital: TJ's kidnapping story in brief
TJ's kidnapping was just one of Renault’s plans in General Hospital to dominate Port Charles and dispose of anyone who was against him. His main aim was to pressure Jordan into clearing his criminal acquaintances who had been incarcerated. When they kidnapped TJ, Renault aimed at Jordan’s weakness: she would do anything for the sake of her son.
As the days went by, no one knew about the gravity of the situation he was in except Jordan. She found herself trapped in a terrible dilemma between saving her son and maintaining the law or submitting to Renault’s order to save him. It got to a point where everyone saw Jordan as stuck in this hopeless place, all the while having to uphold the responsibilities of the commissioner of the city’s police.
TJ was later rescued but he was left emotionally scarred. He was bewildered and could not come to terms with why his mother was not more communicative over the matter. The kidnapping caused changes in TJ’s relationship with Molly Lansing-Davis. TJ attempted to get a grasp of what had occurred to him and the things that the kidnappers had failed to tell him.
