High school football has ramped up this season with many contests between top teams. There have been plenty of great games throughout the country, and this week features many more. Teams such as No. 2-ranked and undefeated St. John Bosco, No. 1 Mater Dei, and No. 16 De La Salle will be competing this week.

Top 3 high school football games you don't want to miss this week

#3, San Ramon Valley at De La Salle

De La Salle (California) has a home matchup against San Ramon Valley on Friday. The Concords (6-0) have scored 227 points and only given up 89. Senior running back Derrick Blanche is averaging 109.3 rushing yards per game, according to Max Preps. De La Salle's run game is a major part of its offense and will be a factor in the game.

San Ramon Valley (7-0) is led by senior running back Matthew Garibaldi, who has rushed for 660 yards and nine touchdowns. The Wolves' defense has playmakers as well with senior linebacker Marco Jones averaging 9.1 tackles per game.

Both teams rely heavily on their run games, and their defenses will be in for a tough one.

#2, Mater Dei at Jserra Catholic

Mater Dei (6-0) has been on a reign of dominance. It's, defeated top teams like Bishop Gorman and St. Frances Academy this season. The Monarchs are led by senior quarterback Dash Beierly who's thrown for 839 yards and 11 touchdowns and no interceptions.

Jserra Catholic (5-2) suffered a recent 23-17 loss to Orange Lutheran. But holding one of the country's top teams to only 23 points is an impressive feat. The Lions have a dynamic quarterback in Ryan Hopkins, who can run and pass effectively. Hopkins has eight TD passes and six rushing scores. Their defense is stacked with playmakers such as senior defensive end/linebacker/safety Madden Faraimo, who leads the team in tackles per game with 11.2

Both teams' offenses are well-equipped to control the line of scrimmage and time of possession. It'll be up to the defenses to get off the field and create more opportunities for the offenses to score.

Servite at St. John Bosco

St. John Bosco (California) hosts Servite on Friday. St. John Bosco (7-0) is ranked as the No. 2 team in the country by MaxPreps. The Braves are riddled with talent all over the field, especially on the offensive side of the ball, like junior wide receiver Madden Williams, who has a team-leading eight receiving touchdowns. The one throwing the touchdowns is freshman quarterback Koa Malau'ulu, with nine.

Servite (6-1), whose only loss this season was to No. 1 Mater Dei, is ranked as the sixth-best team in California. The Friars' defense has been stout, pitching two shutouts, one of which was against Chaminade, and it's only given up 83 points. Senior running back Quaid Carr has 12 total touchdowns.

Servite may not be the highest-ranked team, but it's proven that it can compete with some of the best. Can St. John Bosco keep its streak going? Or will Servite foil its chances of going undefeated?
