Five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. has quickly become one of the most influential recruits in the 2026 class. The prospect announced his commitment to Ohio State in July 2023, choosing the Buckeyes from a pool of over 30 scholarship offers.

Henry is ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 1 prospect in California, according to On3. 247 Sports places him as the No. 3 overall prospect nationally, the No. 1 wide receiver in the class and the No. 1 prospect in California.

Given his potential and so much time remaining before he officially signs, other programs may look to flip Chris Henry Jr.'s commitment.

Let's see which three programs can potentially flip Henry from Ohio State.

Top-3 landing destinations for Chris Henry Jr.

3. USC

USC developed some top-level quarterbacks over the years, like Caleb Williams, who went as the No. 1 overall pick in the latest NFL draft, and Chris Henry Jr. took notice.

“The offense under Lincoln Riley is what USC has. They always have quarterbacks and they run a good offense under Coach Riley.”

USC has already hosted Chris Henry Jr. multiple times following his move from Ohio to California and the program has made it clear that they view him as a priority in the 2026 class.

USC has five players committed to the 2026 recruiting class, ranking No. 6 in the nation. The class features only one wide receiver: three-star prospect Ja'Myron Baker.

2. LSU

LSU wide receiver coach Cortez Hankton has been leading the recruitment process and offensive coordinator Joe Sloan has also made trips to California to scout Henry.

LSU has a rich history of producing elite wide receivers, as two Tigers wide receivers got drafted in the first round of the latest NFL draft and that tradition continues to be a big draw for Henry.

“History with receivers and the guys they’ve put out,” Henry told On3. “I have a great relationship with them, I talk to them a lot. They’ve been recruiting me."

Henry's father was born in Belle Chasse, a small town in the southern part of the state and the family still has strong ties to the region.

"With that being my father’s home state, the love is there," Henry added.

LSU has four players committed to the 2026 class, which ranks No. 9 in the nation and No. 5 in the SEC. It currently doesn’t have any wide receivers committed to the class, making Henry an even more attractive target.

1. Oregon

The Oregon Ducks have been making a strong push for Chris Henry Jr., and they have got a lot working in their favor. Henry has already made two trips to Eugene in 2024, including a visit to Oregon’s Saturday Night Live camp, where he competed inside the Autzen Stadium.

“Just how they interact with their players is just amazing," Henry told Scoop Duck. "The people they have there is crazy. They’re all good people and good coaches.”

Oregon is also actively trying to snatch the prospect away from Ohio State.

“Oh yeah for sure every day," Henry said. "Every day they’re trying to get me to flip.”

Oregon’s recruiting success under head coach Dan Lanning has been commendable with wide receivers. The Ducks secured commitments from five-star wide receivers Dakorien Moore and Dallas Wilson in the 2025 class.

Wide receiver coach Junior Adams has also played a huge role in Chris Henry Jr.’s interest in Oregon. His coaching style and the relationships he builds with his players have clearly impressed the wide receiver prospect, who has expressed a desire to visit Oregon again.
