Montverde Academy guard Aaliyah Crump took to Instagram to announce a noteworthy milestone in her senior year of high school basketball. She has been selected as one of the top 24 players in the country to play in the 2025 McDonald's All-American game, which is one of the highest honors for any player at the school level.
Crump posted the nod on her official account earlier on Monday, Jan. 28, with the caption:
"Let me get a 10 pc nugget meal w/ a large sprite," with a burger and fries emoji.
Throughout the slew of reactions that came her way in the comment section, the most prominent of them all perhaps came from current New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart. The three-time WNBA champion commented on Crump's post with a fries emoji as well.
To be recognized by a player of Stewart's caliber is an impeccable feat, especially for a high schooler such as Crump. After all, the 6'4 stalwart is one of the most accomplished WNBA players ever, as along with her three championship rings, Stewart is also a two-time regular season MVP, two-time Finals MVP, and six-time All-Star.
Crump will strive to have a standout career like Stewart when she carves out her collegiate career. The Texas Longhorns commit averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 3.7 steals during her junior stint at Minnetonka High School. She is looking to close out her high school career strong at Montverde Academy.
The five-star recruit in the class of 2025 is also joined by her teammate and backcourt running mate, the 6'1 Agot Maker, who is also a top-rated prospect. The 2025 Mcdonald's Girls' All-American game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1st, and will be held in Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center.
Aaliyah Crump becomes the 30th University of Texas player to be an All-American
As she has committed to the Texas Longhorns for college basketball, Aaliyah Crump officially becomes the 30th player ever from the program to have been named an All-American in high school. She joins other standouts in Madison Booker and Aaliyah Moore and WNBA players Celeste Taylor and Sug Sutton in receiving the honor.
With a milestone-filled 2024-2025 season thus far, Crump is poised to continue going far in her one-and-done campaign with Montverde Academy. Once that's over, she will join the Texas Longhorns program and hopefully add to their success in the 2025-2026 season.
