Cody Peck, a four-star power forward from Carmel Christian School in Matthews, North Carolina, has recently caught the attention of top college basketball programs. Known for his impressive athleticism and versatile skill set, Peck is a standout prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.

With plans to transfer to IMG Academy in Florida, his recruitment has gained significant momentum.

The schools currently vying for his commitment include NC State, which extended an offer on July 8. Here is a list of schools vying for his commitment:

  • NC State
  • Wake Forest
  • Georgetown
  • SMU
  • LSU
  • Dayton
  • Creighton
  • Virginia Tech
  • Tennessee
  • Appalachian State
  • Samford
  • Marshall
  • College of Charleston

During the previous season, Cody Peck showcased his all-around abilities, averaging 16.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He also demonstrated efficiency with a field goal percentage of 52% and a 3-point shooting percentage of 39%. On the defensive end, he contributed 1.5 blocks and 1.2 steals per game.

His performance has drawn praise from analysts, with On3's Jamie Shaw noting:

"He is already on his way to becoming a vertical lob threat. Rolling to the front of the rim to catch lobs and keeping defenders attached out of the dunker spot. The touch on the jump shot makes things intriguing looking ahead."

As his recruitment heats up, Cody Peck expressed his excitement in an interview with 247Sports.

"It's really exciting to play in front of all these college coaches and build connections with them so it's not just like a business," Peck said. "Since I hurt my finger, it's given me motivation to keep playing. ... It's been overwhelming, but in a good way.
"That first night, coaches were calling me at midnight. Which was incredible since I haven't been getting much attention from coaches in the past year."

Cody Peck visits NC State as recruitment heats up

Less than three weeks after receiving an offer from NC State, Cody Peck made an unofficial visit to the campus. The 6-foot-9, 180-pound forward previously visited NC State in February but hadn't returned since the team's successful March campaign.

The consistent summer recruitment efforts by Wolfpack coach Kevin Keatts and his team made NC State the preferred first stop for Peck and his family post-AAU season.

"Coach Keatts really showed his interest pretty heavily pretty early on," Peck said. "He was at all my games and trying to find out when I played, and texting me. Plus, they offered earlier than me or my family thought they would, so that was pretty special. So we really wanted them to be our first visit ahead of my junior year."

Basketball runs deep in Peck's family. His father, Michael Peck, played at Marshall from 1991-95, ranking in the top-15 for blocks and blocks per game during his freshman and junior years.

Ranked No. 68 nationally by On3, Cody Peck is also listed as the No. 10 power forward and the No. 3 player in North Carolina. Rivals places him at No. 104 overall.
