As the No. 1 ranked prospect from the Class of 2025, top collegiate teams are battling to get the commitment of Monterrey point guard Aaliyah Chavez. She has offers from 11 total schools, but which ones actually have a chance to land her commitment?

Chavez is now down to her final six schools, and all of them have been very aggressive on the recruiting end, with notable head coaches personally traveling to Texas and watching her play.

Top 5 schools that may recruit Aaliyah Chavez

5) South Carolina

Coach Dawn Staley's program is undoubtedly one of the best in the country, and Chavez picked the school as part of her final six back in July. Here is what she said regarding the program:

“They’re always in at least the top four [nationally] so they’re a great program. I want to be at a winning program too. Their coaching staff is recruiting me really well," she told On3 last July.

4) Texas

Texas was one of the first schools Aaliyah Chavez officially visited. This is her home state's school and the program, which adds a lot of weight to its chances. The school has also been one of the most aggressive when it comes to recruiting the No. 1 ranked prospect.

3) Texas Tech

While Texas is her home state's school, Texas Tech is her hometown school, located in Lubbock, Texas. She has been very vocal about her love for the school and its women's basketball program.

“That’s my hometown, so that has an advantage. I’d love to be a hometown hero. I love the coaching staff - they’ve recruited me really well...They have one of the highest [level] facilities I would say," she told On3 back in July.

2) UCLA

Aaliyah Chavez traveled to California for the very first time in her life during her official visit to UCLA, and the Bruins rolled out the red carpet for her, even having her meet some current players. She has admitted that she likes the way that the team plays and their style of ball also fits her well.

1) Oklahoma

While Oklahoma is another state, it is actually not that far from her hometown. Chavez has also expressed her admiration for head coach Jennie Baranczyk. The school rolled out the red carpet for her during her official visit last October and noted that she likes how the Sooners play.
