Top 5 programs for Daylan McCutcheon
#1, Florida State
Florida State has been aggressively pursuing Daylan McCutcheon, making him one of their top targets for the 2025 class. McCutcheon's first visit to Tallahassee in 2024 left a lasting impression, as he told On3:
"It was good. It was just a time to get out and be able to experience what it's like to be at a Florida State practice."
McCutcheon’s official visit to Florida State is scheduled for June 21- 23. But he had the opportunity to observe a spring scrimmage and interact with head coach Mike Norvell and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans. The Seminoles' coaching staff has made a strong impact on him.
"They've been high at the top. They're that one school that I always try to compare to others, but they've really been at my top."
Florida State’s wide receiver room is in a transitional phase, with key departures like Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson entering the NFL draft. However, the Seminoles have bolstered their roster with transfers such as Malik Benson from Alabama and promising recruits like Jalen Brown and Lawayne McCoy.
#2, Ohio State
Ohio State, known for its incredible receiver development under co-offensive coordinator Brian Hartline, has also made a strong case for Daylan McCutcheon. The Buckeyes offered McCutcheon a scholarship following his visit to Columbus for the Penn State game. Hartline even visited him during the active recruiting period.
McCutcheon is drawn to Ohio State due to Hartline's proven track record and the strength of the Buckeyes' wide receiver room.
“They sit pretty high on my board, real high,” McCutcheon said via Eleven Warriors. “(I love) definitely knowing that I’ll be surrounded by great wide receivers. Just knowing that I can take part of their game and add it to my game and be surrounded by others and become the best version of myself.”
The Buckeyes' receiver room is stacked with talent, including Emeka Egbuka and standout freshman Jeremiah Smith. McCutcheon's official visit to Ohio State is set for May 31-June 2.
#3, USC
USC, Daylan McCutcheon’s father's alma mater, remains a strong contender for him. The wide receiver visited the Trojans’ campus during the winter for an unofficial visit and spoke highly of his experience.
“My overall visit to USC was real good,” McCutcheon said (via 247 Sports).
The Trojans are keen to add multiple wide receivers in the 2025 class, having signed just one in 2024. The team's wide receiver room, featuring talents like Duce Robinson, Kyron Hudson, and Zachariah Branch, offers McCutcheon a promising environment in which to develop. His official visit to USC is scheduled for June 7-9.
#4, Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns have also made significant strides in recruiting Daylan McCutcheon. He visited Austin for a spring practice and was impressed by the environment and the coaching style of wide receiver coach Chris Jackson (via OrangeBloods):
“Mainly what stood out was coach (Chris) Jackson in the receiver room, how he was able to control the environment, teach the receivers, especially the new transfers and freshman who enrolled early."
Texas fits McCutcheon in several ways, including developmental opportunities and coaching fit.
“They definitely have the development portion of coach Jackson, how he coaches receivers, teaches them up on route running and releases. That definitely crosses out a portion, and coach Jackson’s personality fits me as a person."
The Longhorns' receiver room includes transfers like Isaiah Bond from Alabama and Matthew Golden from Houston. McCutcheon's official visit to Texas is set for June 14-16.
#5, Stanford
Stanford also rounds out Daylan McCutcheon's top five. They have been actively building their recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 23 nationally. McCutcheon’s interest in Stanford is bolstered by their strategic focus on developing versatile athletes and a robust receiver room featuring players like Elic Ayomanor and Mudia Reuben.
Stanford's 2024 wide receiver room also includes promising players like Tiger Bachmeier and Jayson Raines. McCutcheon's potential addition can further elevate their receiving corps.
