As the 2024 CFB season inches closer with each passing day, there is a lot to anticipate, including some college visits by prospects. There are still a lot of possibilities as to who might end up where in the coming weeks and months.

Let's look at some of the college visits happening this weekend.

#1. DJ Pickett, Florida

The five-star safety prospect is at the top of the 2025 recruiting class in Florida. With fierce interest from Miami, Clemson and Georgia, Pickett heads to Gainesville to assess the Gators’ offer first-hand.

It is a real chance for Florida to take the pole position in Pickett’s recruitment and perhaps seal his commitment. The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder from Tampa, Florida, poses a double threat in defense and offense and is capable of being a game-changer.

#2. Madden Iamaleava, UCLA

Iamaleava is a four-star quarterback with quite a lot of interest, as evident in the 25 offers he’s received so far. However, the two leading contenders in the recruitment of the quarterback from Downey, California, are Nebraska and UCLA.

The Cornhuskers are yet to extend an invitation to the prospect, putting UCLA at an advantage with his trip to the City of Angels this weekend. The Bruins will be counting on the influence of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to seal the deal.

#3. Trey McNutt, Georgia

McNutt is a versatile asset who has caught the attention of the top programs in college football. The five-star prospect from Cleveland, Ohio, heads to Georgia on a trip that could see the Bulldogs upset Ohio State in signing him.

Ohio State is leading the charge for his commitment, and being a local boy plays a big factor. While many analysts might argue he’s the Buckeyes to lose, nothing is guaranteed yet.

#4. Dakorien Moore, Oregon

Moore is perhaps the most famous high school football prospect this weekend after withdrawing his commitment from LSU. With that in the background, the five-star wide receiver from Duncanville, Texas, visits one of the top three schools on his trail this weekend.

The Ducks are in charge of getting Moore’s commitment along with Ohio State and Texas. He has visits to Ohio State and Texas on his schedule this summer, but Oregon has his attention for now.

#5. Keelon Russell, SMU

Russell is already committed to the Mustangs. Still, his visit to SMU this weekend is important for the program. The four-star quarterback has risen in stock and with the rise comes an equal increase in interest from other programs.

As evident from Moore’s decision to rescind his commitment to LSU, anything is possible in recruitment and reassurances are important. The Mustangs know Russell is a bride, so they must continue to court, hence the trip.

#6. David Sanders Jr., Georgia

Sanders Jr. is undoubtedly one of the gems of the 2025 class, and the struggle to get him committed to the top programs is intense. While Clemson and Ohio State are the two leaders in this struggle, Georgia is reaching powerfully for the five-star offensive tackle from North Carolina.

Sanders Jr. has been to Athens in the past, but the current visit is warranted after the impressive show the Buckeyes put on for the star at Colombus.

#7. Ousmane Kromah, Auburn

Kromah’s visit to Auburn this weekend is the first in a lineup of campus visits that will see the four-star running back visit several campuses. His itinerary will include stops in Miami, Florida State, Florida and Georgia.

It’s still an open race to secure the commitment of the 2025 prospect from Leesburg, Georgia. The most the Tigers can hope for is a headstart, which can mean a lot in the grand scheme of things.
