Four-star quarterback Kamario Taylor is the highest-rated player in Mississippi State's 2025 class. Despite his year-long commitment to the Bulldogs, Taylor received a surprising offer from Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday evening.

Georgia assistant coach Mike Bobo and assistant quarterback coach Montgomery VanGoder reached out to Taylor with the offer. He shared the news on X, writing:

"AGTG❤️ after a great conversation with @CoachMikeBobo & @Coach_Gummy i am blessed to receive an offer from the University of Georgia @Coach_OC14 @coachT_Young @CoachLJack3 @CoachBallard_"

Taylor is currently leading Noxubee County High School (Mississippi) to a third straight state championship, and his stats back up his status as one of Mississippi’s top prospects. He recorded 1,766 yards passing, 25 touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing 79 times for 825 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns.

Taylor's playmaking ability and leadership make him a sought-after recruit, even among top programs like Georgia. The Georgia offer could make him reconsider his options, but it would be surprising to see him flip after such a lengthy commitment to Mississippi State.

Mississippi State has 16 committed players in the class, which ranks No. 30 in the nation and No. 14 in the Southeastern Conference. However, the Bulldogs’ recruiting cycle has seen several challenges, with six decommitments to date.

Georgia Bulldogs target multiple QBs in the 2025 class

The Georgia Bulldogs are pursuing several quarterbacks despite already having a four-star QB, Ryan Montgomery, in the 2025 class. Ahead of offering Kamario Taylor, the program offered four-star Cal commit Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele in late October.

Sagapolutele is set to visit Georgia this week for an official visit during the Tennessee game.

“You know, I’m really heavily considering (Georgia), especially because I know their circumstances, and I know that it’s a great school,” Sagapolutele told DawgsHQ. “So, yeah, I know it’s just weighing on my mind a lot.”

Besides that, On3’s Pete Nakos and Steven Wiltfong reported that Georgia is also expected to host five-star USC quarterback commit Julian Lewis soon. It suggests that Georgia could be a player in the recruitment of Lewis as well. For now, he is rumored to flip to Colorado from the Trojans, but Smart can make a smart move to pull off a last-minute upset.
