Five-star wide receiver Michael Terry III remains one of the top recruiting targets for the Texas Longhorns. Steve Sarkisian's program is continuing to press hard for him, and it appears to be paying off. He visited Austin for an official trip in June before returning for a second visit at the end of July.
On Wednesday, InsideTexas’s Justin Wells reported that the 6-foot-2, 211-pound Terry would make an unofficial visit to Austin for the Longhorns’ matchup against UTSA on Friday. His visit couldn’t be confirmed in the aftermath of the match, but the Longhorns ensured a 3-0 record following the match.
Even without the starting quarterback Quinn Ewers, the Longhorns managed a dominant 56-7 victory over UTSA, with Arch Manning stepping in and leading the offense smoothly.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas holds a staggering 96.2% chance of securing Terry’s commitment after several experts put their predictions in favor of the Longhorns in late August.
In August, Texas landed three five-star recruits: wide receivers Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench and safety Jonah Williams. If Terry joins this already phenomenal group, he will further strengthen Texas' 2025 class, which is ranked No. 5 in the nation with 20 commitments.
Nebraska also remains in the mix for Michael Terry III
Michael Terry III is also considering the Nebraska Cornhuskers for his commitment. He visited the program for its 28-10 win over the Colorado Buffaloes on Sept. 7. On3's RPM gives the Cornhuskers only a 1.2% chance of securing his commitment to the 2025 class, but the momentum can shift any time.
Texas has 19 committed players and ranks No. 26 in the nation. If Terry commits to the cycle, he will join four-star Isaiah Mozee as well as three-stars Bryson Hayes and Tanner Terch in the wide receiver room.
Terry has been a force on the field for Alamo Heights, as he scored touchdowns through passing, rushing, and receiving in the school's 55-27 victory over Canyon.
His junior season in 2023 saw him rush for 995 yards and 20 touchdowns while also amassing 564 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns through the air.
Besides Texas and Nebraska, Michael Terry III received offers from Texas A&M, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech.
He is ranked by ESPN as the No. 24 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 2 athlete in the 2025 class and the No. 7 recruit in Texas.
