USC is one of the hottest teams in the Big Ten right now, and one of the reasons is sophomore guard JuJu Watkins, who was already a great player even when she was in high school. She played for Los Angeles schools Windward High School and powerhouse Sierra Canyon and led both teams to successful seasons.

Watkins played for Windward during her freshman and sophomore years and was quite the sensation, averaging 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in her debut year there. During her sophomore season, Watkins averaged 27.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. She was also named SportsKid of the Year by Sports Illustrated Kids in 2020.

During her junior year, Watkins transferred to Sierra Canyon and led the school to an Open Division state title and a 30-2 record. She averaged 25.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists that year and was even named California Gatorade Player of the Year and California's Ms. Basketball.

During her senior year, JuJu Watkins led Sierra Canyon to the CIF Southern Section Open Division title and a 31-1 record. She averaged 27.3 points, 13.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game during her senior year and had a career-high 60 points against Notre Dame.

Watkins was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year and the Naismith Prep Player of the Year, as well as a McDonald's All-American, among many other honors.

On the recruiting side, she was a five-star recruit, with ESPN ranking her the No. 1 overall prospect from the Class of 2023. Because of this, she received several offers, including from South Carolina and Stanford, ultimately choosing to stay in her home state and go with the Trojans.

When she left Sierra Canyon for college, Watkins was succeeded by the No. 3 ranked overall prospect from the Class of 2026, Jerzy Robinson. During a November interview with the "Sloan Knows" YouTube channel, Robinson revealed that Watkins is one of her mentors.

The current and former Sierra Canyon stars have seemingly bonded, with Robinson staying in touch with the USC star.

"So, I've talked to JuJu. She's definitely been in this position and she's been a great mentor," said Jerzey Robinson. (17:01-17:07)

JuJu Watkins left her mark with the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers as she led the school to several titles. Her mentoring of Robinson continues this legacy of hers.
