LiAngelo Ball, the middle brother of the Ball family, earned his reputation as an elite scorer during his high school years at Chino Hills High School in California. Playing alongside his brothers Lonzo and LaMelo, LiAngelo helped create one of the most memorable high school basketball dynasties of all time.
Now making waves in the music industry, it’s worth revisiting his career on the court. Ball's time at Chino Hills featured high performances and almost non-stop success.
As part of the 2015-2016 team, he played a huge role in leading the school to an undefeated season, a California state championship, and the No. 1 national ranking. That year, he averaged 27.4 points per game, often stepping up as the team’s primary scorer while playing alongside his brothers.
In his senior year, LiAngelo elevated his game further, averaging 33.8 points per game. On November 30, 2016, he dropped 72 points in a single game while connecting on 13 three-pointers.
During his time at Chino Hills, Ball shot 49% from the field and 36.5% from beyond the arc. In addition to his scoring, he averaged 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, making contributions beyond just putting points on the board.
Besides the stats, LiAngelo’s chemistry with Lonzo and LaMelo transformed Chino Hills into a national sensation, with fans and scouts alike amazed by their high-energy style of play. The Ball brothers made basketball exciting, and LiAngelo’s leadership on the court was needed for the team’s success.
How LiAngelo Ball transitioned from G-League to a music career
After high school, LiAngelo continued his basketball journey in the NBA G-League but recently shifted his focus to music. His single "Tweaker" has gained significant popularity, leading to performances at major events like the Rolling Loud festival.
While LiAngelo is exploring his career options in music, his high school basketball career will always be remembered by Chino fans. Interestingly, he has not given up on a basketball career, as he said last week per Basketball Network:
"I'd love to go to the NBA and play with my brothers," the 26-year-old said. "This is what I think: I got to go to the G-League, and my brothers gonna pull a little weight; that's just it."
It will be interesting to see if LiAngelo Ball can make a comeback.
