It is a big weekend for young basketball stars, as 82 athletes from the high school graduating classes of 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 are participating in the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team minicamp. The camp began on Friday and will continue till Sunday.
It is being held at the US Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a handful of young talents are already starting to impress.
Several NBA scouts, as well as basketball insiders and journalists, including NCAA basketball insider Travis Branham, were present during the training camp. The 247Sports National Basketball Analyst discussed the high school prospects who caught his eye.

#3 - Deron Rippey Jr, PG - Blair Academy, Class of 2026
The 6-foot-2 point guard from Blairstown, New Jersey, is currently ranked by 247Sports as the No. 19 ranked prospect from the Class of 2026. He is also the No. 4-ranked point guard nationally and the No. 1 player in New Jersey.
Branham noted that Rippey does not have much size, but he more than makes up for it with his game, as Rippey showed great instincts, ball handling and scoring during the USA Basketball training camp in Colorado Springs. He also praised the guard's ability to "break guys down off the bounce and use his shiftiness to create separation."
#2 - Caleb Holt, SG - Grayson High School, Class of 2026
Shooting guard Caleb Holt is one of the biggest names participating in the training camp for the Class of 2026. He is ranked as the No. 4 overall player nationally in the 2026 class by 247Sports, the No. 1 shooting guard in the country and the No. 1 player in Georgia. Several schools are already seeking his commitment, including Alabama, Baylor, Connecticut and more.
During the USA Basketball training camp, Holt impressed many with his defense but also showed that he could do things offensively. Branham noted that the Georgia native is a "big, strong and athletic guard" and a "warrior on the floor."
#1 - Brandon McCoy, PG - St. John Bosco, Class of 2026
St. John Bosco point guard Brandon McCoy has been ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 1 player nationally for the Class of 2026. He is also the No. 1-ranked point guard and the No. 1 player in California, with offers from UCLA, Alabama, Arkansas and more.
Branham noted that during the USA Basketball training camp, McCoy made his presence felt on both sides of the court. The NCAAB insider also praised the point guard's instincts and noted that he is "an impressive athlete with bounce, long arms and great size for the position."
