After signing a historic NIL deal with Reebok worth $1.3 million, five-star prospect Nate Ament is now turning his focus on going to college. His next stop is the University of Notre Dame, with his official visit to the home of the Fighting Irish scheduled for Nov. 9.

Ament is listed as a power forward by 247Sports but is categorised as a small forward by On3. He is ranked nationally as the No. 4 overall recruit from the class of 2025. The Notre Dame visit comes after he made official visits to other schools, including Texas, Louisville, Kansas State and Tennessee.

The Highland High School star already has several offers, including ones from Connecticut, Creighton, Duke, Florida State, Georgetown, Tennessee and more.

On3 currently has Tennessee leading in the Recruitment Prediction Machine (RPM) rankings, at 20.2%, followed by Louisville at 17.7%. Notre Dame is in third place with 15.2%, followed by Texas and Kansas State, each having a 12.6% chance to get the forward.

Duke, Kansas and Arkansas are also favorites to get his commitment. The Virginia native is expected to choose his school during the late signing period, which begins April 16.

Notre Dame "satisfied" with 2025 recruits but would not turn down five-star Nate Ament

The Fighting Irish have already landed four big recruits from the class of 2025, all of whom are four-stars. They are power forward Brady Koehler, small forward Ryder Frost, center Tommy Ahneman and small forward Jalen Haralson. On3 has reported that the school is already satisfied with these recruits.

However, should Nate Ament choose to go to Notre Dame, the school would not be turning down such a talent, whom they describe as a "unicorn" on the court.

Scouting reports have shown that Ament is a versatile player who can pass, shoot and use his size to his advantage. However, On3's Jamie Shaw has noted that there are some things that he is lacking, and that is more speed and bulk.

“Ament plays with a good pace, while lacking true blow by speed, he has a good pace and is typically either bigger or more mobile than his defender at this point to help him get to various spots on the floor. Ament is thin with narrow shoulders, he will need to continue adding weight. He is also a quiet by nature person, and a late bloomer. Continue to watch as he develops. He has a unique game that enhances the level of those around him," said Shaw.

Nate Ament's Reebok deal grabbed headlines as he became the first high school men’s basketball player to sign a NIL deal with the sports apparel brand. It is a multi-year deal that includes a Player Exclusive sneaker with different colorways of the new Reebok 'Engine A' shoes.
