Five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry remains one of the most highly sought-after uncommitted players in the 2025 recruiting class. With his decision expected to come closer to the early signing day in December, Alabama continues to be a major contender for his commitment.
Terry was scheduled to return to Tuscaloosa this weekend for the much-anticipated Alabama vs. Georgia game. This would have marked his second visit this fall, following a surprise trip to watch the Crimson Tide's matchup against USF.
However, according to Joseph Hastings III of BamaOnLine, those plans have been disrupted. Due to Hurricane Helene, Terry's high school football game was moved from Friday to Saturday, which will prevent him from making the visit.
Several high school programs in the region have rescheduled games to avoid the weather. Some schools decided to play as early as Wednesday evening, but Terry’s team will play on Saturday instead. There is optimism that he will make it back to Tuscaloosa for a visit later in the year.
While Terry may be absent this weekend, Alabama will still host a number of impressive prospects. The Crimson Tide are set to welcome several five-star recruits, including defensive back Keelon Russell, cornerback Dijon Lee, offensive tackle Ty Haywood, wide receiver Caleb Cunningham and edge rusher Anthony Jones.
Some four-star recruits to visit the Alabama vs. Georgia showdown are interior offensive lineman Michael Carroll, athlete Derick Smith and safety Ivan Taylor.
Justus Terry is also set to visit Georgia for a game-day visit
Being a Georgia native, Justus Terry trends toward a potential commitment to the Bulldogs. He was spotted at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Georgia vs. Clemson game on Aug. 31.
Terry has not yet visited Athens, Georgia, but there are plans for him to attend the Oct. 5 game against Auburn. He may make additional visits to the Bulldogs as the season progresses, according to Bama247.
Terry's recruitment has been a roller-coaster ride, as he initially committed to the USC Trojans in March before decommitting in June. During that time, Florida State also emerged as a contender, but his interest seems to have decreased following the Seminoles' slow start to the season.
Alabama now appears to be the only school that poses a serious challenge to Georgia's ambitions to secure Terry's commitment. Interestingly, he had previously committed to Georgia before flipping to USC.
Recruiting experts from platforms like 247 Sports and On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine are leaning toward Georgia for Terry's potential second-time commitment. However, given his unpredictable recruitment history, surprises are always on the table.
