Justin Hasenhuetl, a three-star offensive lineman from Georgia, de-committed from Georgia Tech last month. He pledged to the California Golden Bears and chose them over other schools such as Clemson, Florida State and NC State on Saturday.

Hasenhuetl, who visited Berkeley on Nov. 24 for Cal's game against the Stanford Cardinal, was impressed by the program and added it to his shortlist. He had the Golden Bears at the top of his list after his de-commitment from the Yellow Jackets.

The Golden Bears' Class of 2025 is currently ranked No.60 in the country by 247Sports. They have signed 14 players from the class, including two offensive linemen. Hasenhuetl joins Ben Howard and Michael Klisiewicz as Cal's only offensive linemen commitments.

The three-star prospect is ranked No.414 nationally and is the 32nd-best offensive lineman from the Class of 2025 by On3. He is also the 56th-best overall recruit from the state of Georgia.

247Sports ranks Hasenhuetl as a four-star prospect, whereas Rivals has him ranked as a three-star recruit. According to 247Sports, the lineman is ranked No.340 in the country and is the 20th-best player at his position.

Justin Hasenhuetl sheds light on commitment to the California Golden Bears

The three-star offensive lineman from Rabun Gap-Nacoochee High School announced his commitment to the California Golden Bears after decommiting from Georgia Tech in December.

He gave his reasons for his commitment to the program after his commitment and also spoke about his visit to California.

"It was both academically and athletically. Football is not forever. You always need a second plan and Cal is just beautiful out there," Justin Hasenhuetl said, as per Yahoo Sports. "When we flew out there for my first official visit, Georgia Tech wouldn’t let me take one, so I was looking for a new home. Cal was right there.
"When I got there, the first two days it was raining, so I didn’t see much of the city but is an extra factor that added up. So many people know San Francisco, and it’s just a great place to be."

Justin Hasenhuetl was an integral part of the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles' offense and helped them to an 11-2 record this season.
