Zion Elee, a standout edge rusher in the 2026 recruiting class, is catching the attention of college programs as one of the nation’s top prospects. He is already recognized as a five-star talent by 247Sports, and his stock continues to rise with reevaluations from other major outlets likely on the way.

Elee received over 30 offers, and his recruitment momentum shows no signs of slowing down. He kicked off September by receiving an offer from UCLA, followed closely by an offer from Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss on Friday.

Elee shared the news on X, tagging Ole Miss Director of Player Personnel Alex Brown:

"Blessed to receive an offer from The University of Ole Miss @alexm_brown @RivalsFriedman @BrianDohn247 @ChadSimmons_ @lbcoachchris @OleMissFB @FTRreport."

Ole Miss joins an offer sheet for the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Elee, which includes Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State, Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas Tech, USC, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Michigan State.

Besides Zion Elee, the Rebels also offered multiple edge rushers for the 2026 class, including four-star prospects like Tyler Atkinson, Jordan Carter, Jake Kreul, Cam Brooks, Braeden Jones, Zavion Griffin-Haynes and Anthony Jones. Other edge rushers to earn offers from the program are Hunter Higgins, Keenan Britt and Jamarion Matthews.

Which programs are in the race for Zion Elee's commitment?

Zion Elee narrowed his college choices down to five: Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State on August 3.

According to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Penn State holds a 15.5% chance of landing Elee's commitment. He visited the school for both a spring practice and a camp, which seems to have left a positive impression.

“I know they’re one of the top schools in my rankings,” Elee shared with On3. “What’s really exciting about them is the history of edges being developed there so I know could be that next one.”

While Maryland did not crack Elee’s top five, the Terrapins are still a factor in his recruitment. As a Maryland native, he is closely tied to the local program, and On3 projects a 26.2% chance of him staying home to play for them.

Elee, who transferred to St. Frances Academy from Joppatowne (Maryland) ahead of his junior season, is known for his speed-rushing abilities, combining quickness with the occasional power rush. His exceptional performance earned him a spot on the MaxPreps first-team All-American defense last month.

Zion Elee is ranked by ESPN as the No. 16 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 2 edge rusher in the 2026 class and the No. 2 recruit in Maryland.
