Four-star prospect Drew Evers, from Flower Mound High School in Texas, has become one of the most pursued prospects in the country in the 2026 class this offseason. He plays left tackle at his high school, but he is expected to be an offensive tackle prospect for college programs.
Drew Evers has already received more than 30 offers from college programs and on Wednesday, he added another big offer to his growing list when coach Mario Cristobal's Miami Hurricanes offered him a scholarship. The prospect shared his excitement on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
"Blessed to have been given a scholarship opportunity w/ @CanesFootball 🙌🏽 #GoCanes"
"Really appreciate @coach_cristobal @CoachMirabal @CoachEdPata @Coach_Rothwell 🤝@bbasil01 @KaneHardin_ @CoachxSalinas @CoachMacsOLine @BlueChipOL"
The Hurricanes earned commitments from four-star linebacker Jordan Campbell, four-star wide receiver Malachi Toney and three-star quarterback Dereon Coleman to the 2026 recruiting class. It ranks No. 10 in the nation and No. 2 in the ACC. Evers can be the next blue-chip prospect in the class if he gives his pledge.
Besides football, Evers' athletic prowess can be understood from his top speed of 20.3 miles per hour, recorded during testing at Oklahoma camp. He is ranked as the nation's No. 189 overall prospect, the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class and the No. 21 recruit in Texas, according to the On3 industry ranking.
Oklahoma leads the race for Drew Evers' commitment
Drew Evers received offers from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Texas, Baylor, Colorado, SMU and Oregon, among others. He said he would be making his commitment decision around this time next year.
As of now, Oklahoma is leading the race for Evers' recruitment, with a 37.9% chance of securing his commitment (per On3). Their strong recruiting efforts and their current 2026 class, which is ranked No. 7 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC, boost the Sooner's chances to land Evers.
Oklahoma's position is also strengthened by the presence of Drew Evers' older brother, Nick Evers, a former four-star quarterback prospect who began his college career with the Sooners before. Nick later transferred to Wisconsin and eventually landed in Connecticut.
Texas Longhorns is also a serious contender in Evers' recruitment, with a 25.1% chance of securing his commitment. His connection to Texas was solidified during his visit to Austin on junior day earlier this year, as well as his participation in the Texas Elite Camp. He made a great bond with current Texas offensive linemen DJ Campbell and Cam Williams as well as offensive line coach Kyle Flood during that camp.
SMU and Alabama are also in the mix, but their chances are slightly lower. SMU holds a 14.5% chance and Alabama has a 6.4% chance of earning Evers' commitment.
