September has already been an exciting month for four-star wide receiver Donovan Murph. The prospect, from Irmo High School in South Carolina, kicked off the month with an offer from Ohio State and earned another big offer on Monday when Kirby Smart's Georgia offered him for the Bulldogs' 2026 class.
Murph shared the news on X, tagging Georgia coaching staff, including Smart, wide receiver coach James Coley, assistant wide receiver coach Cam Odom, offensive assistant Luc Cornier and running back coach Josh Crawford
"I’m Blessed to have EARNED an offer from the University of Georgia #AGTG @KirbySmartUGA @CoachColey @CornierLuc @CoachJCrawford @CoachOdom_ @Dawgs247 @DawgsHQ @ugasportscom @1luv5 @Qik_6 @Demyond1 @Dash25_ @JadamWilliams @CoachTSam @WRU_CoachMilez @CoachHock4 @AnnaH247 @TomLoy247," he wrote on X.
Two four-star cornerbacks, Dominick Kelly and Jontavius Wyman, as well as quarterback Jared Curtis, have committed to the Bulldogs' 2026 class, which is ranked fourth in the nation and second in the Southeastern Conference. If Murph commits, he will be the first member of the Bulldogs' wide receiver room.
Murph’s standout attributes include his impressive speed, precise route running, and acute awareness of zone coverage, all of which have drawn the attention of top programs.
He has already received offers from big programs like Alabama, Clemson, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Auburn, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee.
Donovan Murph shares criteria for his college decision
Donovan Murph holds nearly 30 Division I scholarship offers, and his potential suggests that even more offers are on the way but he remains cautious in the process.
"I’m still weighing all my options, because I’ve got a lot of schools coming in and a lot of visits I’m planning to take,” Murph told Upstate Today. “Right now, I’m just seeing what comes in and trusting the process."
Murphy made a game-day visit to Ohio State's season-opening 52-6 win against Akron. He also visited Alabama, Tennessee, NC State, Texas A&M, Florida, South Carolina, Clemson and Ole Miss in the last few months.
Murph aims to narrow down his list of potential schools by the middle of the 2024 season and hopes to commit before his senior year.
“I want to be at a place that develops me as a player and a young man as well,” Murph told Eleven Warriors. “Just somewhere like… I fit the mold and they check all the boxes for me. Somewhere where I can be developed and turn into an NFL receiver, not just getting to the league but have longevity.”
The South Carolina Gamecocks are considered the frontrunners for Murph’s commitment, with a 60.5% chance of landing him, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. Meanwhile, 247 Sports predicts Clemson as the leading contender in his recruitment.
